I bought a used Furion 6 and I think I received a bum HW 120HV. Before I contact the seller and accuse him of selling something that is in "perfect" condition, I want to make sure i am not over looking something.

10S set up. Vbar blue line full size. WR BEC @5.3V. Everything is hooked up correctly into vbar and everything works correctly, until I get to the two gov screens. The bars move accordingly, but when I go to set up the ESC, I get a "beep" every two seconds telling me the signal is interrupted or not identified. After attaching a multi-meter to the ESC output wires, I find there is no output! Any thoughts before I contact the seller?

Please dont turn this intoa buyer be ware thing...that is not where i am going. I just want to make sure I am not overlooking anything.

Did you reset the ESC and calibrate the throttle end points? If not I would start there with the governor off. Also did you assign the throttle channel in the Rx setup tab? If so, is the correct channel selected in the first Governor tab?

Here's what I would do...

1. Reset the Hobbywing to default. Change timing& frequecy to required settings.

2. Calibrate Throttle end points. Either with Governor off and the ESC connected to the Vbar OR connect the ESC straight to the RX to calibrate the Throttle end points with the ESC.

3. Verify throttle channel assignment on the Receiver tab in Vbar (make note of channel)

4. Verify Channel assignement on Gov 1 tab in Vbar. Preset channel from RX should match throttle channel noted in Receiver tab if using as the channel to specify RPM. Output socket should match where you plugged in the ESC

Yes, I did everything. But, the issue, as I see it is the ESC is not outputting any power, the multi-meter does not respond to anything.

Verify it's not the vbar by calibrating the Throttle end points directly on the RX instead of through the Vbar

Have you checked the programming?

If it's not programmed properly it could be a problem

When I added power to the ESC, I get the 1-2-3 chimes and then the "beep" every two seconds. Nothing happens, it does not respond...NADA.

Did you try connecting the esc sraight to a Rx? The beeps sound like it's not getting a signal from the vbar. Also upload your vbar setup and I'll check it out.

120hv
The 120hv is opto isolated...so it has no internal bec..meaning it needs all wires to be connected..if you do not have the red wire connected it will not arm...

You really need to check the programming of the esc also

The Vbar Gov was eliminated from the equation, disabled

the bec was eliminated...so then, Run the thing straight up, "lets get the thing to work old school first" mentality

the ESC does not respond, so, figure lets see what the ESC is outputting voltage wise, the ESC is outputting NOTHING, when hooked up to multimeter.

Two questions:

1. how does one reset a HW ESC?

2. does this even matter, in my experience when the ESC fails to put out voltage, usually means the ESC is no good(?)

First determine if the vbar or rx is sending a signal out the throttle channel. You can easily do this with a servo. Connect a servo to the throttle channel, see if it moves with stick movements. You'll never get output from the esc if the esc doesn't get a signal from the vbar or rx. The beep error from the ESC I think is the error code when the esc doesn't get a signal from the rx.

The only way I know to reset the esc to redo end points is with the programmer box... But I could be wrong

Puma, I tried a servo in the ESC PORT, AND YES IT MOVES WITH THE STICK. Ii THINK MY ESC IS KAPUT. Sorry for the caps. It gets power because it blinks red and makes the 1-2-3 sounds at the beginning ad 'beeps." Signal out from vbar is confirmed. Cannot get the ESC to work.

Hmmm yeah doesn't sound good. Have you tried connecting to a program box to reset to default and/or upgrading the firmware?

What happens if you power on the esc when your throttle is full stick? Do you get the rapid beeps indicating throttle isn't off?
