^ +1 on the real life simulator. It don't even need a "red button".

My experience with this thing is that it's tough as nails and you almost have to go out of your way to break it! We now have two, just because the wife wanted her own!!

If it ain't broke, go fly some more!

It's how I learned to hover inverted. After 20 crashes in soft grass (no damage except for replacing a few links) I finally got where I could do inverted which in turn gave me confidence for inverted flight with my 50 size nitro. It took away the fear factor of learning something new. I want to upgrade this one. I like them.

We all know that MCPX is fun and a great helicopter. Sometimes even
when it's fun we're still contrained with our budgets. What I have here is a Burned out Motor and 3in1 Circuit Board. I've used my MCPX
to the max. Motor cost $12.00, 3in1 Circuit Board $70.00. With all
the crashes here and there, God knows what else will break.
At $82.00 + tax and everything, stop and think. Is it worth it?
Do the math! Would you rather buy the BNF @$169.00and use the remnants at your old MCPX as spare parts?
Better yet, did you have your fill with MCPX? If so, drop it, SAVE your $169.00 and move on to the next best thing!
Just my 2 Cents.....
This guy forgets when the MS hornet was $400 brushed with plastic push on pinions. lol!
I think I put $1500 into just the airframe on that one.. after the Duzi upgrades.

You guys get flybarless heli's for $169 now and still complain?

How about all the money I put into my esky! How about all the money I put into my walkera's (oh boy! don't get me started!) All that money and time just to get a heli like the MCPX! That does all the things you want it to do! And doesn't cost a ton of money and time when you crash it after about 1.5 minutes of flying time!
OOPS! Sorry got myself started!

But with the V3 tail blade, the longer boom ins't needed.
What is the V3 tail blade and where'd you get it?

V3 means there have been three changes to the MCPX tail setup since it was first released. These names have been given by the users and are thoroughly used in forums:

V1: Original design, as it was released.

V2: The tail motor was caged to prevent it coming apart in crashes.

V3: The tail blade length and style was changed. This V3 tail blade is larger and its airfoil design more efficient, which provides a BIG improvement in the holding power, even better than the just released KBDD tail blades. See the picture below. The new blade style is the upper one.

This V3 tail blade is the blade that will be offered now and is the one that will be seen eventually as the old style stock is gone.

If you want it, you can call the store you're buying from and ask if they got the new style blade.

It should, but I would call to make sure they will send the new style. I was talking to a hobby shop owner and he told me he got all V1 blades in the booms and tail blades he ordered recently from Horizon Hobby.

The only way to know is to call them. Eventually, the V3 tail blade will be the one sold but there are still many V1's that need to be sold first .
