o.k. folks I give up, I guess I am going to the trusted gv-1 or ???? running a spectra with hanson 290rc motor, spektrum 6040 cyclic and throttle and the 6080 tail... 3gx flybarless, 710 radix v2 blades.1750HS..oh, stator gator and malorie throttle linkage setup for mechanical expo.

Heres the problem. I first went to a micro servo for the throttle to save weight with the little metal gear spektrum servos. (I know but it saved over an ounce) anyway worked great for two weeks then I would get erratic throttle while governed in flight (by this I mean wide open to idle to wide open to idle to wide open to idle.. get the picture.... until I go to ungoverned normal throttle curves). So I replaced the servo with another micro, two weeks later, same problem... So I replaced the throttle servo again with a full size spektrum like I have on cyclics (excellent servos by the way) and now three weeks later in flight during governed flight the throttle cuts out for a split second and then comes back.... unplug the stator gator from the governor to disable it and the heli flies great on throttle curves with just some over speeding when unloaded..........WHAT THE HECK!!!!

and no, it is not a fuel delivery problem, that was my first guess, new tank, fittings, felt clunk and line... all is good here.

Has anyone experienced anything like this????

I don't know how your system works or is programmed. But some Futaba products drop the throttle as a battery failsafe, or could it just have gone into failsafe for a second? Are your failsafes set to hold everything but throttle goes to idle?

Throttle servos do take a lot of abuse from vibration. Could be you fixed the servo problem with the better servo, and this is a different but similar problem.

running a 7200 mah flightpack from fromeco currently and only put 1100 mah after last flight when this happened. I also have the settings on the governor dialed in great as when it works it works great... of course futaba says if it isnt a futaba throttle servo then they cant help me... thing is if I simply disconnect the stator gator sensor it works flawlessly off of throttle curves........ still getting the throttle signal through the gy701, so that would (I think) eliminate everything except the governor and the sensor right? doesnt battery failsafe work whether in governed or not??? I have another stator gator for a puh engine I could try, is the only difference between the rc and puh version the wire fittings??? I have read some guys removing the stator gator and using the hall sensor and fixing similar issues, thing is I cant find a suitable location for the sensor on the rc engine to read right...I do have a spektrum telemetry sensor on the clutch bell to read head speed, I wonder if that would work for the gy701??
