is it possible to use the futaba backplate sensor on a conventional backplate? other than the one made by os for that sensor.
I have a novarossi 57.

sure, but you would have to custom make a mount for it, basically replicate the pocket that OS has for it.

You can use the Spektrum sensor, you need to wire a 1k ohm resistor between the red and yellow wire. Gold side of resistor to the yellow wire.

Just to correct the above...a 2.7K Ohm resistor is ideal. It needs to be wired between V+ and Signal, and orientation of the resistor is irrelevent

I used. 2.7 and 1K ohm, 1 K ohm worked better for me, Ron

Not sure which sensor you are asking for (Spektrum or Futaba) but any of the online vendors (Experience RC, Ron Lund, etc) or your local hobby store may have it. If you do purchase the Spektrum the parts to modify it (resistor) would be available at any electronics supply (Radio Shack, etc)
