Do I realy need to purchase a newer simulator?
First off this is not a which one post.
I have RealFlight 3.5 and enjoy it but it just doesn't seem to react like real flying. Are the newer sims more accurate to what flying is realy like?
Graphics aren't that important to me but control is and I find my sim a little slow compared to real life.

Kinda sounds like you need to tweak your sim heli settings to match your real heli.

No you dont need to........But if you get a Phoenix you wont be disappointed. I have both and prefer the Phoenix over RealFlight.
The Phoenix can be set up to fly a heli just the way yours flies, What more can you ask for?

So the 3.5 can make a heli fly like real life?

Have you just been using the included heli's and flying those? Did you ever adjust servo speed, blade pitch, headspeed, paddle weight, etc?

If not, go for it.

Hi,

You can also download models others have created from the RealFlight Swap Pages. Do a search for models that have been commented as great, even here.

You really should update. Go for the new RF 6. It's only 50 bucks then you will be up to date and the characteristics are supposed to be better than the previous versions, plus you will be able to fly online with a bunch of different people and learn even more. The adjust-ability of different models is made even easier.

3.5 can't be ugraded. I'd have to buy a whole new sim.
I still may get a new sim in the future.

For where you are at in your learning curve I would say going out and buying the lastest and greatest is just a waste of money. Stick with what you have for a while it will get you through anything you want to learn.

3.5 can be upgraded to the 6 just as you could upgrade to the 5.5. I am going to upgrade when it is available. I just picked up the heli mega pack today. Who told you that 3.5 could not be upgraded?

As far as I understand 4.0 or higher can be upgraded to 6. 3.5 something is the most current I can go with mine.

You can upgrade to at least 5.5, I wenf from 3.5 to 5.5 last uear so I could fly on line. And as far as I know all you need is the 3.5 controller and the update disc for 6.0 but there are some features for quick pick that you can not do with the 3.5 controller
