Yes I have first hand knowledge of the Whiplash! Very nice heli, but heavy. Not cool to make statements then close a thread so responses cannot be made. I in no way am bashing the Whiplash, I would love to own one, just saying that it in no way will affect the sales on the TDR's. The guys who buy TDR's arent so worried about price of parts or waiting a little while to get them. Kinda like owning a Ferrari I would guess, (Should of said Porsche I suppose)!

+1, and the statement in that thread was cr@p.
Don't think that's true at all.

Goblin and Diabolo might affect the TDR sales, Whiplash I don't think so

It's all good by me. More parts for my TDR! Buy whatever you folks want.

Lowest weight on the TDR is around 10.0 pounds AUW, right? What is the lowest weight on the WhipLash?

More than 10 hahahaha. No, don't know, I picked up Bobby's with 5000 lipos and it felt heavier than other 700s. It's big and robust, and flies amazingly well, when flown by him at least...

Bobby flies it at 2250 or higher all the time as that is compensating for the weight. That is why he flies it for like 3-4 minutes is all with 5000's. A Scorpion 4525LE and 2250+RPM will make a cinder block perform. Hit the hold switch and Scorpion can't help you now.

My TDR with Jive 120+HV and Mini V-Stabi and 12S 4500 NanoTech's and Radix 690FBL's weighs 10.1 lbs turn the hold switch off and watch it spool up.

Whiplash can't be gotten below 12 with same equipment. Not hearsay, FACT. I know a Whiplash owner who has same equipment as me except he has 5000 packs. Going from 4500 to 5000 packs won't drop 2 lbs. boys. Whippy is a bigger machine than TDR slightly and needs 710's, but it is lots heavier too.

Nothing is lighter than tDR except maybe a Compass 7HV. Maybe.

How much does the Compass 7HV weight?

I thought that new Synergy helicopter was supposed to be really light?

Yeah I thought it was kinda childish that he would post a snippy reply and then close the thread. I agree with what you said in the post. Two different helis, two different markets. The whiplash looks like a great heli. I would love to have one. This has also been said a few times but the Henseleit is a custom made piece of art and (insert heli here)_____________ is a mass produced generic heli.

My Trex 700E weighs exactly the same as my TDR with identical setup. Put them both on the scale, and there's about 10 grams difference. (5.0kg)

I'm not buying that one bit DTM. Sorry man, I'll have to see a picture of that one. My TDR is way less than friends' 700E's.

Is owning a TDR like owning a Logo? What I mean is, do I have to have an I'm better than you attitude if I get a TDR? Is it like owning a German luxury or sports car (BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi)?

J/K guys. I have Logos. I fly them because they fly great with almost no maintenance required. My TDR should arrive in December.

But to be truthful, the Goblin does have my attention. It reminds me of the TDR in many ways (two stage power transmission, CF landing gear, sleek design, etc.). With blades included, the Goblin is about $350 less expensive than the TDR. I wonder how many TDR owners are planning to get the Goblin?

Sorry to get of topic. I agree. Elaciset acted like a punk by closing thread after taking a cheap shot. Passive agressive type for sure. Reminds me of the guy from the movie Office Space who wanted his stapler back. Don't tell him where you live or he may burn your house down! Just playing wih you Elaciset.

There is a little bit of elitist "I'm better than you" attitude about the TDR, but it's not bragging if you've got it, right?

Justin,
You are probably right. Am I proud I am an American? You betcha. Some of that spills over to owership of our helis I guess and probably more than others with a TDR. I admit it.

Truth:

TDR IS LIGHTEST 90 OUT.
HENSELEIT uses finest quality materials. (carbon and etc)
Is dead reliable. No stripping main gears or etc.
Looks you either love or hate. I love it obviously
One of fastest helis out if not the fastest
3D's as good as anything made

Not a machine for everyone. To each his own.

As before, if you say it is then "it is". Seen you around a few years now DTM, I just found it crazy and wanted to see that one myself. Guess now I have. Thanks man.

I still wouldn't buy that ugly Align machine you took a picture of though compared to the TDR. Seeing them together like that makes me laugh looking at that Rex canopy on it. Kind of like a person trying to use a wash rag to cover their naked butt. Just doesn't "cover it" ya know. Nice looking TDR though. The most I'll say about that other one is "nicely built man". Fair enough?

Guess I can die now, I've seen it all! /facepalm

I didn't take it the wrong way , I just had those pics from the TDR build thread on another forum.
There is much to say about A vs B, but personally I find that that these two helis make up the perfect fleet. I'm flying both every weekend and they have always performed flawlessly.
