How is it different to Hyperion 7s and 14s chargers?

Let me take a stab at it.

One says ThunderPower and the other says Hyperion.

It is a 36V 1000w on a single port.
Based on this rating, it should be able to charge 14s5000 pack at 17amps or at 3.5c

A series charger? Last time I tried that (1010) we had to put stickers on the leads and everything had to be hooked up in a specific way?

What's it cost?
And when will it be available? Neither are mentioned on the web site.

Same as a Hyperion 1420i but 450w more powerful.

IMO 14s setups are just ridiculous, if you can't get enough power out of 12s even on an 800mm blade heli then something is wrong!

Problem isn't the the number of cells. At the moment, the most popular cell size is around 5ah. So, as the required power level increases, only thing that can grow is the #cells.

If they came out with a 7.5ah cells, you can get the same power with 8s as the 12s5ah.

But, your current requirement will also increase 50%.

Sweet good work thunder power!!!

When is it out? What power supply is needed to run full power?

I have 2 hyperion 1420i, and they are good for my 12S TP sticks, but it would be good to charge at a higher rate for sure!!!

It is only for people who want to fly stick packs. I have the 820CD and it does 8S packs so... It has more power than the 820.

I fly 10S stick packs on my Logo 600, but all stick packs have a connector to make them separate packs now by regulation so I charge my 10S as two 5S packs.

I don't really see a need for this charger. I mean it won't do anything the 820 won't except a little more power but at the cost of one pack at a time.

I am missing it I guess.

It does charge multiple packs... Just like other single port chargers. But you can go up to 14s. Just plug the packs into the balance board and use a series y-cable... Or use a parallel charge setup.

If I have to series charge them then why wouldn't I want a dual port charger and do them individually or charge two different packs or charge and discharge at the same time.

Just me I guess. I like options. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE options.

This is for those who wish to have a single 14s pack charging at 3.5c. I do not think there is a charger on the market that can do that yet.

We have upto 9s (single pack) packs. While we use two 820s, I had to bring along 1010 to be able to charge the 9s pack.

I was planning on upgrading my 1000w 13.8v PS to 24v setup. This created a problem for 1010s as they can't handle 24v. So this new charger will handle anything that 820s can't at the same PS voltage.

Well Norman you know me, so i probly don't have to say anything. BUT...
This is something i've been waiting on. Yeah i still have to do 2
7s packs to get to 14, but i wire them together in a single stick form. So less connectors to hassle with the better IMO...

Besides now i can start complaining to get it up to 16s

Truer words have never been said. If they made 16s you'd want 18s. Plugging the packs would look like an arc welder!
