I am currently planning a senior project for my computer science degree.

I plan on putting together a RC helicopter that can be controlled from any location in the world(virtually no range).

My question is which RC helicopter will easily carry 140 grams(weight of an Iphone)? I also would like to bare in mind stability for better camera shots. The helicopter does not need to do anything fancy but stay stable so a beginner type helicopter would suite. It would also suite my skills as I have never flown a helicopter before and will be learning.

Unfortunately price is an issue so I am looking for something relatively cheap but something that will definitely do the job well.

I would appreciate any advice at all.

Thanks, Brandon

If you have never flown, you better start with a flight sim. You are not very likly to learn much on a real heli in a short time, you will spend most of your time repairing it. Some LHS have a sim set up in there store for customers to try, seek one out and give it a try.
The larger the heli the more stable it will be.
Good luck on your degree.

I remember that rc helis are not toys! It seems to me a little too dangerous, piloting a heli without seeing it directly, whatever you've in mind! Just my opinion!

Good point
Yea I noticed that when I tried to fly one on a simulator. Is there any other option which is more stable and would be able to be flown with out directly seeing the machine?

Have you seen the quad controlled by an iphone?

Friends don't encourage friends to fly helis! It can cause part shortages.

So what advantage would there be for such an application To control a rc toy from anywhere in the world?

Which is worse, ignorance or apathy? I don't know and I don't care!

Find also out how to turn on the heli and after the first flight also how to change batteries, maybe simply trough sending an email from Helsinki...
