"The exhaust port in the head of my OS91HZ is bigger than the port in my Hatori tuned pipe.
I would never dream of cutting on my pipe"

Which is the exact reason why if you are looking for max power you buy the Kasama header which matches the port size much better...

I do agree though, leave the pipe alone. You will do more harm than good by grinding on it.

If that is silicone on the surface I would suspect that as the culprit for your flame outs.

You need to give everyboby the real story dan.
I gave this kid a nearly new os 55 engine, GAVE, he installed it in his heli, ran fine with his align 50 pipe, more power than he ever had, his words, ran fine for a couple of weekends, then he had a fuel starvation issue at the field engine would not rev above about 30%, couple of folks there said looks like your clutch was slipping, I have seen and had slipping clutches dan your clutch was not slipping.
Then i get a pm that there is something wrong with his 50 pipe and he needs a 55 pipe because the engine won't hold a tune.
Well i said your in luck because i just bought another pipe for my ys 56 to see if there was any more power to be had, you can have the one i am running now.
That GP pipe you have now dan ran on that 55 for me for at least a year making plenty of power and then has been on my 56 pulling 620 blades with no problem, both engines held a tune.
Just because some idiot told you the GP pipe is not the correct pipe for the 55 you now assume that because your engine is not running right it is the pipes fault.
Pipes are made the way they are for a reason by people way smarter than you, you had a fuel problem and hurt the engine, FIX THE PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE.
By the way, pipe wet sanded flat on glass with 600 grit paper, need only a tiny amount of silicon, you have way to much silicon on that pipe, try a new plug first.

Definitely go light on the silicone, the smallest bit flaking off will blow plugs all day long.
engine would not rev above about 30%
This would have nothing to do with clutch slipping. More to do with fuel starvation of some sort. not the pipe either

Sorry dan, i was probably a little harsh in my earlier post but i needed to get your focus off the pipe and into trying to find the real problem.
Finding the problem might not be easy and even frustrating.
Change the plug if you have not done so already as stated by others i have seen silicon cause problems and i have seen a plug starting to go bad cause all kinds of wierd running issues.
Look thru the open exhaust port and inspect the piston and ring, when i gave you the engine the piston looked like new and there was no carbon below the ring, if the piston has any scratches at all it may be bad or if the ring is shiny and has a bunch of carbon below it you will need a ring.
If all is well at this point you need to look for either trash in the carb where the fuel goes in or a slightly kinked fuel line which is easy to do depending on how the line is run.
Will help you any way i can to get your engine running right again.
Told you when i met you that i would answer any questions you had only with factual info and keep my opinion to my self because what works for me may not work for you, and if i did not have an answer i would say i don't know, but when talking to anyone about a problem with your heli you need to provide all the info you can without your opinions in order for people to help.
