Well, after getting about 20 flights on the whiplash I can say that I am satisfied with it. The main concerns I had while building the heli was the weight, gear mesh and the CG.
The gear mesh has not changed a bit and I have not noticed any wear on the main gear. I have flown the heli in 65F and as low as 40F with no problems so far.
The weight I can kindof feel while flying, but with the high CG I barely notice. This does not concern me anymore.
The CG is kindof a let down though. I am tail heavy and aside from shimming the front pack down to clear the rudder servo, I have not found a reasonable way to balance the heli. You can feel the tail heaviness during piro maneuvers. I have the heli piroing in one spot but the heli will follow the tail around and not spin directly on the mainshaft. This has not really effected my flying too much, but is more of an annoyance. It really should have more flexibility. I know MA says follow their recommendations to a T, but I still don't see how a heli designed these days would not take into account the various batteries, esc's, motors, etc... that are available. I really hope that MA will come up with new frames to allow for more adjustability in regards to the CG.
So, in conclusion, I am glad I purchased this model and hope that MA will take a serious look at the CG issue that many people are running into and come up with a solution.
