My friend has a Futaba 8FG and R617 rx. Yesterday on the field , he flew the first flight no problems, then on the 2nd flight the heli would tilt back in a hover and after adjusting to level the swash, the heli then would not lift off. Went to bench test his heli with nitro engine off to check his pitch which has lots of neg pitch. The servos started to twitch.

Anybody having the 2.4ghz with glitches?

"glitches" with FASST are an oddity. Generally it turns out to be something internally like loose wires, loose/poor connections, bad switch, servo having an issue. A bad TX pot can also mimic a "glitch".

Nope that's not a 2.4 thing, as stated above triple check everything else associated to power and communication quality.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

What FBL unit, plus was the heli sitting still or did it get bumped. Did you try and re-powering it up and see if its was ok on the bench, did you check the battery it was cold sunday and if you are using a high c pack. Was the pack warm if not, it will not supply the correct voltage lets here what you find. I have an idea who your are talking about if you need help give me a call Dino.

Thanks Dino, It's all taken care of.

It's a FB heli.

What he did was changed receivers and now it's all fine.

He did crash a few times with that heli. So most likely the rx was damage.

This illustrates a situation that never ceases to amaze me. People reusing a crashed RX without having it looked at. Even if it "appears" to be working fine why take a chance?? Not trying to beat on the OP, but the lesson here is if you smack the heli hard enough to break carbon fiber parts then maybe it might not be an all together bad idea to have the far more fragile RX looked at.

The info about the TX having been previously crashed was important to know when troubleshooting an issue. Glad he got it figured out.
