With the winter winds kicking up and the rains settling in I think it is time to begin prepping the G20 Radikal for winter storage and shipment. If I get my parts in I may be able to finish off the fuel I mixed this last spring. I'm a little disappointed that I spent more time fixin' than I did flyin', but sometimes that's how it goes. I've got just about 3/4 gal of fuel through the motor to date.

So, What do you guys do to prepare your Radikals for winter storage? In my case, it'll be storage and shipment to our new home in Texas.

Thank you.

Ted

I Hate winter :(
I have had winter for the past 2 weeks ,strong winds ,heavey rain and falling temps
I drained all the fuel, fired some 3 in 1 oil into the cylinder and pulled the starter string a couple of times to spread it over the cylinder / piston. Then I stuffed some kitchen roll paper into the intake to keep out any gunk floating about my garage. Last thing I will do is take the lippos into the house and store in a fire proof case. I left them out in the garage last year with temps going down to minus 4C in there and I think it may have damaged them, wouldn't charge up as well after that. So this year I`ll keep them warmer to see if it helps

I have heard stories of people putting their lipo packs in the fridge for storage. But sub-zero may have been too much for them.

Thanks for the input.

Today is the perfect example of why my season is winding down.

Woke up this morning with 30+ mph winds and gusts up to 50 mph. This afternoon it is supposed to be 50mph sustained winds with 70 mph gust.

Can't fly in that!

I never wind down for any season
Wind, snow, cold, I fly in it all! Granted winds not up to 70mph though I have flown in 40mph winds. Not fun but doable. My favorite are the dead calm days, even if cold.

Talk about kicking a guy when he's down....While he has 70mph winds you have 70 degrees of sun.

I'll be packing up my birds and gear for shipment to the states in a few weeks.

Weather forcast calls for high winds through the weekend and into next week. ARGH!

I just want to burn off the remained of fuel I have so I can say I've got a gallon of fuel through my motor. lol
