Well, that clears it up then, not Outrage. Mixed feelings though eh?

Outrage has a bad rep and known for QC problems

Goblin:
Our helicopters are made by our own machines not from Outrage factory.
Can you prove it ? Where is your factory ? SAB blades are made in Italy ?
if you have nothing to hide send us some pics of your machines.

Wasn't there a video of Bert flying the Goblin and it crashed due to mechanical failure? The youtube video was pulled right away.

It crashed because a wire chaffed on the CF, shorted it, and reset the VBAR. Not mechanical.

If SAB makes the Goblin, then why aren't they following the same distribution channels as all other SAB products? Why are they only selling it through Helidirect?

Let me see what creative answer you have for this one.

You guys amaze me!

Then why is their factory in Vietnam and in the same complex as the Outrage factory. And that comes from worker in the Outrage plant.

Rumor has it that the Outrage brand is going to be phased out and replaced by the Goblin brand. Time will tell if this holds true. I don't know if it's a language thing or a translation thing, but I get the feeling there is a little bit of deception going on with SAB. While it's standard fare that about 90% of the helicopter companies outsource their manufacturing to Asia, at the very least SAB could come forward and make a statement to confirm or deny the rumors.

As it stands right now, the rumors I have heard are that Outrage, Goblin, OMG Heli, and Fusuno are all under the same owner. And that all these brands along with the SAB blades will be manufactured in the same factory in Vietnam.

It's not like outsourcing is unusual. Apple computers are designed by engineers in Cupertino, California, but then manufactured at various places in China. But Apple says this right on the box.

I feels to me like maybe SAB (a well known blade maker) is just lending it's name to create this new brand so that the owner of Outrage can distance himself from previous quality control issues?

Obviously, I think it would be much more interesting if there was a SAB factory in Italy across the street from the Lamborghini factory like the ads lead us to believe.

I have no clue as to the truth of this debate, but it would not surprise me if they were made in the same factory that is contracted to make Outrage Helis. This is pretty common overseas. SAB's specifications and materials are of a higher quality though. I know for a fact that although there are quite a lot of different brands of blades out there, there are only a few blade manufactures, the only difference being the individual design and material quality.

I am not saying that I know who makes SAB, I am just offering one possible explanation.

Zaaaguy72 is correct. The investment it would take to build a factory to manufacture all the components needed to make an RC heli would be millions of dollars and there just is not enough volume of anyone heli to ever payback that kind of investment. It is no different than clothing or shoe manufacturing. They are contract manufactuirng facilities that make products with their equipment and labor to the OEM's specifications. How many of you have a smart phone or computer that is a FoxConn brand. None but I can guarantee most of the components in the computer you are using right now were made in their factories. This is HUGE chinese electronics company with like 800,000 employees that make products for Apple, Sony, IBM etc.

There are dozens of RC aircraft "makers" out there and it would be silly to think that each one has it's own dedicated facility to produce their products. Sucess comes down to design, specifications and marketing.

I would assume Align has their own factory to make their own brand of helicopters. And I would assume the same thing about Mikado. I have also been told that Miniature Aircraft makes most of their helicopters on-site as well, (although I have not seen their factory and therefore cannot confirm the veracity of this statenent). So perhaps it's not totally unheard of for a helicopter company to invest however many millions of dollars are required to manufacture everything in house. But it does not appear to be the norm.

Align makes many different products and household appliances so I would assume they share the manufacturing equiptment to make helicopters. I don't know MA's manufacturing history other than the fact that they are made in the US.

Maybe they made a deal for US distribution with Helidirect like Mikado did with Ready-Heli. It may be that only preorders are available at HD and once the Heli is released it will be available at more retailers.

LOTS of factories make multiple brands.

Here in this country is no different.
The presses and welders at Brown Corp here in my home town, run wide open for hours making Ford car dash frames. When the quota is met, they pull the dies and jigs and start running parts for Chevy.
They also make parts for Kenworth.

The materials and tolerances are dictated by each company contracting the work.

Same owner does not equal same company.
I work for a construction company owned by a man that owns 30 businesses. One of which is Comfort Inn. I am not an employee of Comfort Inn. I am not a maid and Comfort Inn does not build schools and hospitals all over Ohio.

If parts are made in the same building,it means nothing.
Chevy has no relation to Ford or Kenworth but they all have parts made in the same place.

Brown Corp also produces parts for Dodge and Peterbilt by the way.

Well. This is the discussion I been after. I have somemore info. But Im not going to post it, but I can tell my thoughts on it, It is outsourced and yes I do believe it is made in a outrage facility by goblin bought machines, Looks like goblin is also having pat. Problems. Reason why the delay,
It does bug me that goblin is only sold to 1 place. And Sab blades distributors are lift with just the blades,

Order canceled! I'm going to wait to see if there are QC issues with the Goblin like Outrage had with initial Velocity release. I don't want to go through that BS again. Maybe I'll just stick with USA and German brands.

strange, strange, strange, this whole episode has been really weird

i was told to ask the guy i have preordered through, to findmout wheremthe heli is made...... importer is the same guy as outrage, means nothing really, i guess.
he says that they are made in italy.

ive owned cars from every continent, right now im driving a yank suv. i like different cars, cause they say something about the folks who made them.
i have driven in multiple ferraris and lambos, even a maserati, they smell, feel and look different, they exude a certain patina of excusivity and refinment not found in us or aussie cars.

that is what im looking for in my next helicopter.

as for Bert calling us " truthers " a bunch of haters....well, you better be right pal, is all i can say, you stuck your neck outma long way there

Who cares if the parts are made in the same factory?
This is a stupid conversation. The factory probably makes cuisinarts and microwaves too. Does that mean cuisinart owns SAB ? Ridiculous.
