WOW, what a nice system! I bought the DJI WooKong system for multirotors. I put in on a Fyetech Y6. I have only flown it once but VERY nice silky smooth. The setup is kinda of tricky but once you work out the differences between the FYETECH Y6 and the DJI WooKong system its REALLY nice. For instance the motors 2,3,5,6 are in different locations on the Y from the DJI system. You HAVE to get that right or hours of frustration.
The most important part of this is getting the MODE switch calibrated correctly. I DIDNT do that and then when I powered it up it went into FAILSAFE mode and tried to fly home. I had to hold it down by the GPS antenna. You really NEED a 3 way switch to go from modes, manual, GPS Att, and Att. modes. On my radio an Airtronics SD-10G I used my gyro Gain switch. It has three hundred graduations from 150 to -150. ON the DJI setup software setting up the mode switch when you move those values (and of course different for different radios) I started with manual mode, out of the values I had to work with the value was -87.
I was able to see what values were ballpark by swithing the switch back and forth. So my radio had the values close, but they have to be dialed in and the computer will show BLUE when you have the switch correct and its not a wide value. Just on that first value the area was blue from -87 to -84, the non GPS att. mode was 0 and the GPS att. mode was 85 to 82.
The first part of the setup is getting your CG right. You need to measure the distance of the IMU from the craft center. You need to measure the GPS from the craft center or CG. As I write this, I forgot to measure the height of my GPS from the deck level. I need to go back and do that. The next step is motor mixing and choosing your setup. ITS VERY IMPORTANT TO SEE THAT YOUR MOTORS ARE MOVING AS THE DJI SYSTEM WANTS THEM TO. THE FYETECH Y6 HAS DIFFERENT MOTORS AND DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS OF THE PROP ROTATION.
The next step is the radio calibration and thats pretty straightforward but HERE is where the MODE control setup is and its on the bottom and not easily visible.
The next step is the autopilot but the manual said those should be fine at default!
So if you want to spend $1000 on system like this try it. I like it
so far its really smooth like I said, but if you dont mind I have to go change my antenna height.

OH I forgot! This system has a MONSTROUS STROBE LIGHT!!! It tells you the modes and marks it or navigation and orientation. Almost the best part!!!
More to come later

Flew Tonite
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!

I waited all day because of just too much wind. At 9 PM it started to die down abit. So by 10 PM all the kids were in bed, all tucked to their heads, mom was asleep, the dogs made not a peep!

SO I went outside and hooked up a battery to the Fyetech Y6 with the
DJI and waited for satillites and took off. IT was like flying a table top. Usually I fly in the DAY and I look like a gimbal that has lost a couple screws. But this one, and I have NEVER started a new system at NIGHT before or ANY system, but the fyetech has built in LEDs including the landing type REALLY bright white ones that signal low battery voltage too. And the DJI Strobe is SOO COOL!!!!
Anyway I took off in manual mode and the thing is dead nuts straight. Either I became an expert in about 30 seconds or this DJI system ROCKS!!! So I got up about 30 feet and locked in GPS attitude mode and it stayed RIGHT there. PLUS in GPS mode you get an extra white STROBE.
It will drift 5-10 feet where my FY-91Q will drift 30-50 feet around the center. My first flight had a used battery so I had to land quickly.
So I got another battery and went back out. The quads are so slow they scare me away from doing a periouette and I have never done one on a multi rotor. So tonite I felt so confident in GPS mode I did my FIRST one (not including helicopters) and AT NIGHT!!!
THis thing ROCKS and is worth the money in my opinion!! It blows the 91Q out of the water. Plain and simple!!!
