I am having a good time with the half piro flip on the sim and now I want to try the real thing with my beater Evo50. Before I try, I want to know if I should adjust the collective and cyclic pitch range (swash setting) on the radio first. Should I increase the cyclic pitch range and decrease the collective pitch range so that the heli will flip comparatively faster to make the maneuver easier to achieve?

The Evo piroflips fine stock but with harder teeter rubbers.

I give it a try today with my Evo50 and I am able to make it. The downside is I cannot get the heli staying at one single spot. How can this be done? Am I giving too much cyclic and collective inputs?

I'm the same way, I lose altitude, I'v been told it is mostly timing, I can do it fairly well on the sim, but the real thing......I get a little shaky. I think in my case its not enough collective inputs.

I do not lose any altitude in the 1st half of the flip, only the second half does. Very weird. I am trying to make it perfect.

Piroflips are best done with a combination of cyclic and collective, with emphasis on the cyclic part of the piroflip.
