I just got a Trex 450 Pro from a RR member last week. Went to set up a Spartan Quark w/ 9257. The tail just wags really bad. tried adjusting gain, but no luck. Put a 401 on it and its more controllable, but still has a little wag in it every now and then. Of coarse I put it in the ground, as that is what farmers do, plant 'em real good!

But before the crash, I noticed the tail grips have slop in them. I can grab them and pull on them. They mover in and out more than I think they should. Tried tightening them down, but no affect.

I ordered a new tail grip set. I really want to use the Spartan gyro. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Eugene

try the grip flip mod:

then reset the tail: 90 degrees on rudder servo 90 degrees on slider. double check rudder direction and gyro direction.

Trex 450 Pro tail issue
It is the V2 version w/TT. Replaced main and feathering shafts, boom and tt, new TP carbon blades, and main gear. 401 is set to digital.

I talked to LHS about the slop it the grips. They said it was normal.

Not the tail wags violently!

Aslo I went to the video links, but never saw how to do the tail mod. He explained he would address it later, but never could find the other video.

Trex 450 Pro tail issue
Well I just did the tail mod just as explained in the video. I reversed the gyro and the rudder in the radio. It seems to fly good now. Thanks everyone for the help!

I had to mount my 9257 from underneath because it is taller than the D520. The ball was rubbing the tail boom case.

But all is good now.
