It looks like someone is going to take a share away from RCBooya.

Anyone know who the manufacturer is? Mfg website?

I have used RCB canopy mount for the first time on a 700 electric out of necessary. I was fine with the pylon and cotter pin on the nitro. But, electric needs quick removal of the canopy to get to the batteries.

Benny, you know you can make these with some quick release key chains, grommets, and m3 screws, at the home depot.

all you need is half hour and a dremel

That is like saying "You know you can make that pizza at home. All you need is a bit of dough, tomatos (to make the tomato sauce), and some milk (to make cheese)."

I usually keep the stock pylons. But, our X5 keeps popping the grommets. So, it is time to get a set for X5.

It would be an overkill to do all 4. I'll just replace the rear sets.

Now I just have to decide RCBooya or Heli Option.

I haven't personally. I can cook water.

I just ordered couple of sets from HeliDirect. We will see how they compare quality wise with RCB.

As the packaging suggests, it is a product of HongKong.

First glance.

Nice Packaging over zip lock bags.

I got these to use on other heli than indicated (trex550). But it came with wide slot on the grommet to use original plastic liner in the canopy. So, I'll have to figure out a way to locate the thin gap grommets. They should have supplied extra grommets of different gap.

When closed, there is a small slop between grommeted quick release to the receptacle. I do not know if the small slop will disappear when installed.

QR itself is well thought out custom shape as shown in the picture. It has a step to retain the grommet so it does not look like you will lose these. Also, it has a nice titanium plating.

Receptacle as the typical cheap machining that is masked by the glass beading then silver anodized.

I will let you know (maybe next year) if it holds up.

BTW, they seem to be working on a gimbal swash like the red & black one.

At the moment, I have no idea where to obtain spare grommets when the original fails. But, one surprise was that the little recess in the quick release allows one to mount it to an existing grommets on the canopies that are CAed in.

It is tight so you will have to lube it with KY to get it in the tight hole. But, once in, it won't come out at all.

If I was to put this or RCB on a nitro, I would coat the inside of the receptacle with grease to prevent metal to metal rubbing to improve wear resistance.

I think heli manufacturers should incorporate this as a stock mount.
I love the ease of clipping on and off and the security that comes with it.
