Looking for a motor for the new Whiplash that is coming out. I have been out of the gas scene for a while.

Maximum power is not as important as smooth running and ease of tuning. I don't mind paying for quality.

Which motor do you guys think I should get?

Anything from BH Hanson or Toxic Al will be smooth, reliable, and consistent. If you buy from anyone else, your taking a pretty big risk.

I'm planning on going with an Oddified when I get my Whiplash.

Why not buy the same engine that MA used in the demo model? Judging from the videos, it obviously works.

I even recall hearing Bobby Watts suggest that it 'might' even be a bit smoother than the nitro whiplash with their chosen engine.

I don't think the Oddified will work with this application. They're powerful car engines, but may have a little to much vibration for heli's.

Just a note,if you ask Oddified for a smooth heli engine, you will get one.Friend has one in a Helibug 700.I think most decent engine builders will ask what application anyway.

Here's the demo video:

"Smoother than a nitro, I dare say".....is Bobby's Quote.

The engine is from Toxic Al at TRM. It's a modified 26cc engine. I believe they call it "VX270RC-TT"

Thanks for the video link. The model looks really nice in flight. What he was doing with the model is more or less my flying style.

I am not a hardcore 3D guy. Old age is setting in and I am looking to return to the days of throwing the model in the car with the transmitter and a can of fuel and going out for some fun without cleanup, constant bearing replacement, glow plug replacemnt, and always being on the look out for bulk "fuel deals".

Does anyone know the release date?

Do you personally own a Hanson or Toxic motor Justin? If so how are they working for you? Who is anyone else specifically??

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Wow.....I can't believe it took 6 full days for someone to start a pissing match in this thread.

I suppose now we are going to talk about which engines Justin owns, instead of what the OP asked.

Just a question that's all. Besides he's too busy slamming the Spectra on the Min Air section.

I am looking forward to see the RC format engine in the Whiplash. I have a 23cc gas buggy with this type of engine and it is very easy to use and I'm sure has much better cooling capacity than the Puh format engines except for maybe Wally's upgrade fan for the Puh. Too bad the Wally fan is not made anymore for us Puh guys.

I don't believe there is a comparison to any of the PUH cooling systems (and I think both the rc-aftermarket and century fans are huge improvements over what was available in the past).

The fan on the RC motor is moving a tremendous amount of air even at idle

Is Wally still building motors? Wasn't he going to revolutionize the gasser motor industry with his design?

I have no idea what he is doing, but he had and I'm sure still has some really innovative ideas
and his fan is one of them. Justin STUART dragged him through the sewer for a long time
in a HUGE PUBLIC Forum to the point he may have given up. I hope not ,,he is a VERY talented man.
