I just saw that today. Unfortunately, you have to use their transmitter even for the BNF version.

Like the LHS is going to have parts on hand for that! What a joke! I can't believe these companies get away with this. I'll stick with my mCPx. If my local hobby shop doesn't have the part's I need they are a day away and delivered by the postman.

Friends don't encourage friends to fly helis! It can cause part shortages.

Yea. ill stick with my mcpx too. better support from horizon and every hobby shop locally has parts. its cheaper, but shipping from china will cost you much more than the actual parts for the mcpx in the states...

I've ordered a few things from Hobby King. The old addage still rings true - you get what you pay for. I've been disappointed with most everything I've bought from them.

Those are Nine Eagles brand helis. The 180 looks like a clone of a walkera.

The funny thing is people love to buy junk clones and after putting all the real version parts on it they just as well of bought the real deal.

Yeah what happened with that phoney fbl 100 pic floating around after the release of mcpx

Align just wasn't fast enough then to come up with a micro fbl but you would think by now they would have one

Funny let's see if I buy this and upgrade to all the Microheli parts and a Horizon control board I guess I will have a pretty good Micro. Now if they would have made it BNF with Futaba 2.4 that would have been a different story.

I agree. That would have been a big hit for them.

I believe E-Flite should provide a Futaba compatible MCPX and board now that the model has been out for some time, somewhat like Futaba did for the Spektrum guys after the CGY750 was out for some time.

The RTF mCP X is now $169 from Horizon. Just a day ago it was $199

The product support from Horizon is so good it's worth the extra money. If your tail motor goes out just call them up and they will send you a new one for free!

You would be silly to not buy the original, especially when the price is the same and you can have the mCP X in just a few days rather then a few weeks.

RTF Solo Pro 100 $142.35
Cheapest shipping $27.97

$170.32

mCPx $169.99
Shipping FREE

$169.99

This can even be extended to OEM helis. Cheap is cheap. My first collective pitch heli was Blade 400. It was a great deal, and it did teach me flight. However, the gyro didn't hold right out of the box. Everything else worked well. And, although RTF helis can be quick fun, I am not so sure it's best for entry. Something as small as a coaxial perhaps is fine, but if a person is moving from coax to a collective pitch machine, I am no longer convinced an RTF is best. Many say to go inexpensive until you know you're committed. This has never worked out for me. RTF helis delay the pilot learning how everything works. Then you have to research (not tough, admittedly) how to fix or adjust everything. Perhaps the new Blade 450 is better, but I chased my Blade 400 with servos, gyro, and plastic head and tail parts trying to keep a viable setup. I nearly always aluded me, even with a very experienced mentor. He was flying Align 50 nitros and a 500, as well as Futaba, and with my Blade 400, it was always a bit of struggle make something of it. If I had to do over, I'd buy a used legit heli perhaps to save money, and disassemble most subassemblies to learn the proper setup since it's almost a necessity for proper setup anyway. In the end, you can have a clean T500 or similar for little more investment than a B450. Just opinions, but with careful shopping, I've found the classifieds to be one of our best resources, regardless of skill level.
