I am building a new trex 450 pro and was wondering if the Gorilla Gear landing gear is taller than the landing gear that comes in the kit. We fly off of grass and I am concerned with striping the tail drive gears, have heard that they are easy to strip.

think it is the same size, just a bit stronger.
I fly my 450's off grass and simply watch where I spool up. Kick something down flat and spool up there.
No real issue on landing as they are spinning fast enough to weed eat.

I have gorilla rear on my 450, looks to be low stance. From flat surface to tip of blade it is 1". I always take a small piece of plywood 2' x 2' or even a car mat to throw out on the grass for the 450. No issues then.

put a couple of washers between the rear landing gear mount and the frame, using a slightly longer screw - that'll lift the tail up.

I try and stick the nose into the downhill side of a bump in the ground to give clearance for the tail blades.

It has been a long time since I've posted here but on my old TRex 450, I purchased 2 different sized Gorilla landing gear, a low set and a standard height. The low gear would be in the from, the standard in the back. This would prop the tail up so even when spooling up in grass, the tail would be higher.

The 450 Pro Gorilla landing gear is identical shape and size to the stock white landing gear.
