Whats up fellow heli pilots. Any suggestions or opinions would be helpful. Thanks guys!

I have an Align GP780 gyro on my T-Rex 700e. I hit the limit button on my gyro and made sure both ends didn't bind. The servo wheel is 90 degrees to the servo. However, when it binds, there is a slight Angle of Attack on the tail rotor. I started it up today, and it went into a piro before I even took off. Shut it down and took home.

How do I get the tail rotor straight?

I would start a square one. Bypass the gyro and set up the tail and rudder servo at 90 degrees. Then set the gyro up again. I've had one or two pull this and when I went though the set up again it cured it. The piro thing kinda sounds like it's reversed.

+1 make sure the gyro is correcting the right direction.

Yep, centered the servo wheel 90 degrees. Tail rotor straight as an arrow. Spooled it up just now and it spun around 7 times until I hit throttle cut.

WOW!

I lost the manual for the gyro. So searched the net and found an article to on the functionality of setting it up.

As follows:

"Move the helicopter clockwise while it is powered on and stationary on the ground. Observe the rotor compensation, which is controlled by the gyro. If the rudder corrects itself and moves counterclockwise, move on to the next step; but, it it continues to move clockwise, hold the SET button for two seconds until the status LED begins flashing. Press the SET button until NOR/REV LED illuminates. Use the rudder stick on your transmitter to change from Normal to Reverse or vice versa."

Is this the setup for reverse?
