I recently put my trex 600N in the dirt and I am in the process of getting it back together. My first set of blades on it were the fairly cheap pro 3d blades which worked fairly well. I tried maverick g5 and they also flew very well. I have flown it all year and this is the second crash, first my fault and this one was a mechanical failure. I have SAB blades on my protos and they fly great. has anyone here used those on the larger aircraft? my protos has a lot of pop when I hit the collective. I was hoping to get a little more pop in the TREX. I have messed with the curves to get as much as I can but still seems a bit sluggish.

Thanks in advance guys

Sab are excellent blades. If you want "pop" get Radix stick bangers.

Yeah, for pop you need lighter blades. The Stick Bangers would be better for that.

I don't have any stick bangers but the 118g 600mm Zigsaw GP4's have 85% of the moment of intertia (proportional to head energy in auto's) of 152g 600mm DY F50 FAI blades. The will all auto if you are careful.

If you will tell me what a pair of 600 SB's weigh, I will make a quick SWAG at their moment of inertia also. Better yet if you have a busted blade and can tell me where the weight (if any) is located and how much.

You are never going to get a Trex 600N to pop like a Protos but it can be improved.

You say you have messed with curves so I presume you mean throttle curves? Ide suggest then that you get a governor and fast throttle servo. Next try increasing your collective to 13 if you haven't already, increase head speed to 2200 if you haven't already.

BBT Maniac 2 603mm blades are the poppiest ive found, they are very aggressive.

60% of the time, it works every time!

for the 600N and a newer pilot I would recommend regular Radix 600mm or Align 600D blades. Radix are a bit slower cyclic auto better, good general vanilla blade. Aligns are faster cyclic, bit better collective feel IMO, but don't auto as well.

also re: pop on your 600N
there are alot of variables to cover there
what motor/fuel, governor, what's your idle up throttle curve and headspeed?

Blades
You won't go wrong with a set of 606 Rail Blades.. Google them. These Blades auto awesome and are quiet until you want otherwise. By far better than you think. Also guve the Rail Tails a try. 96mm.
