Can I run my Align DS650 on unregulated 6.6V. Using a liFe battery but am trying to avoid step down if possible.

Thanks

C.

The servo is rated for 6volt..

I have a friend who has run his 610s and 650 tail on strait 2cell lith. Its been working for countless flights. Im waiting for it to fall out the sky every time he flies it. Idk,, good luck

I wouldn't do 6.6volts on the 650 Servo
I burnt 1 servo at 6volts
and 2 servos on 5.5 regulators.

no more ALign 650 for me.

lol. maybe I should of run straight 2s as your friend did. Maybe I would have better luck.

Yes, you can use the DS650 at 6.6V. I have been running LiFe packs for the past 3 months.

I've been running mine on a straight 2s 8.4v LiPo for 2 years prior to switching to Futaba 256HV.

Thanks Mike

I thought I had read people running them on higher V's.

I think you nay have some other issues there. You shouldn't be burning up servos at 5.5V's

3 different helis one wasn't mine and a bls 251 is running great on there. I do not have any binding or vib issues.

The one on my 600n burnt up while on the bench.
My friend burnt one on his 700e, it also was not in flight.

And the last one on my 700n actually burnt up the plastic of the servo. It was in flight and started to go nuts on me. I ended up in an auto as I had no tail control. It was smoking when I got to the heli.

I have been running mine at 6.5 with no issues. If you were using a 5 cell 6volt nicad pack you would be getting at least that at a full charge. Remember from back in the day

I've got about 75 flights on a DS620 tail rotor servo on 6.6 volts from an unregulated 2S LiFePO4 pack. No issues so far. I cannot see why the 650 would be any different.
