Hey Guys,

I was really needing a radio with more channels. With the DX7 I was using I was ok until I went to an Autopilot System. Once I made this leap I did not have channels left to manage camera gimbals when shooting stills solo or to trip the shutter.

I looked around at all the systems on the market, then while at the field some friends recommended the Airtronics 10g. These guys that are regulars at the field and had recently purchased them. They are all very advance heli pilots.

When I asked why they went to the airtronics, they (being 3D pilots)said because it is the fastest and most secure systems on the market. These guys regularly fly at large events so security is a big deal and response is also a big deal for advanced competition.

I told them while that was nice, the control layout was really important to me as well as easy programing. After looking at their radios, it was clear that they had everything I was looking for, like conveniently located sliders to control the gimbals while shooting solo, and lots of flexibility in setting up knob, switch and slider function. I have owned a range of Hi-Tech, JR (9303)and Spektrum and without a doubt this was one kick ass radio.

Now the big concern was how expensive was this beast going to be. Base on its features I was expecting $700 to $1,000 or more. When they told me $499 and that price included a 10 channel receiver I was amazed. When they told me that I could get it on sale for $399 during October, I said guess what I am getting ready to purchase. Well mine is on the way. I am going to be in it for a total of $414 including freight. I can't wait for it to arrive so I will be able to start shooting some stills with my now WooKong equipped heli.

If you are in the market, it is a really sweet option to consider.

Here is the radio I bought:
