I would say that depends on how you fly.

There are plenty flying more powerfull motor than this and the gear strip is not really happening unless its speed flight and high RPM/pitch.

My 4530LE at 1950RPM is no issue with 14deg, i imagine this would be the same.

PS i am using Jive 120HV

Maybe they will make more? They are limited edition because the magnets are so hard to come buy.

Its cause its hand wound in germany, the people who did it get sore fingers and have day job also!

I will see if i can take vid tommorow, have not flown it.

I know Georges said this, I think its more precaution, i fly hard, but not smack 3D style.

If you let the gear cool around speed flight and keep 1850-1950RPM it will be fine, if you get gready then you will get gear issues and shutdowns on the jive during smack.

Just an update, did a few flights on it, even on almost 30deg ambient day, it was no issue.

The jive 120HV does not really got that hot and no shutdowns.

Talked to Georges at OHB in depth about this motor and what esc is required to use its full potential. YGE 320 is what he recommends we talked for awhile about how and why bottom line if you don't want to worry about your ESC shutting down and have to watch your collective management very closely than get a YGE 320hv.

I think he is talking about if you plan to take full advantage of the motor and test the limits, in that case yes i would as the jive will shut down.

I can jam the sticks at 14deg and 1950RPM and it holds up fine, but i can get my 4525LE to shutdown if pushing really hard (the 4525LE is the only one i had shutdown a few times if pushed real hard, perhaps its the delta wiring).
Anyway now i use helijive and vbar gov, its smoother, a little sharpness is taken away but the smoothness and tail makes up for it, the peaks are lower.

The jive 120 was commonly used by many when developing these motors, they also used YGE but its not mandatory.

This is one of two kit of 4535 during the rewound work! Used 1.8 mm wire. ASAP the test flight.

I fly this 1st motor on my TDR, with powerjive 120, frame stiffeners and new main gear builded on nylon 6 colato MOS2.... I'm very curious of results
The 2nd of this kit fly on "blue Goblin" of my friend, specially for speedtest
