Ok I am a first time vbar guy but experienced Heli builder and pilot. I am running it on a 600n with a compass fbl head. I had some help from some vbar gurus ( elec. ) so I am confident in my setup. I have exactly the resolution vbar asks for. I am getting a shimmy when the Heli us in a hover and the stick is lowered just enough to let the Heli slowly sink. Any collective change will correct this. I have lowered the gain significantly and do not think it is the solution. Any help? It almost seems like it's due to slop but my setup is very tight and with the compass head I have significantly less linkages.

Head...

1) Make sure thrust bearings (if directional) are installed in proper order

2) Dampeners, change them, get hard dampeners, oil them while installing

3) Jesus bolt and head block, even though your Jesus bolt is tight doesn't mean your head block is tight on the main shaft.

more than likely the dampeners

Something is floating when load is off disc. I just had this and found my balls on servo horns were a little sloppy . Also servo gears could have some backlash and being your setup is tight unit is picking it up .It only needs to be one servo or link to cause this . Just to make sure try different blades if you can .

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

What dampners you running. Put the Lime green KBDD ones in hard as a rock. There built for fbl heads. you will need the black delrin spacers too, nankin hobby has everything you will need, Did you get your head from nankin

I ran the lime green in my 550, they were OK...I too started to have this problem, turn out it was the lime green.

swapped them out for the regular KBDD, was fine after that

ohh boy do I have issues...

well it all started the night my....oh you mean the heli

not much, put the limes in the 550, tight, very tight. Had immediate head block issue, as in the jesus bolt does not tighten the head block on the main mast, fixed that. So you can say that they are so stiff, they'll show you other issues.

ran the dampeners just shy of 80 flights, started to see the typical FBL disk "BOBBLE", adjusted gain, same situation. Thought maybe time to swap the dampeners. Bought the KBDD "trifecta" pack and decided to start at the bottom with the neon green, installed, flew great, awesome to be exact and thouhgt, no need to try harder, and stopped there

what kinda flying style. the lime greens will give you a wobble at low head speeds for a few flights. Sounds like you have a bad head block though. Cause I have a local guy matter fact 2 guys one flybar and one fbl using the lime greens in the trex 550. 80 flights is not a lot i have had 300 on one set once. Here is a question did you crash the heli at all and reused the lime greens mean not changed them.

I would agree but as I said, the neon green are working fine.

could still be bad HB just being masked by new dampeners?

Yea could be. casue the old green ones are soft so it maybe just fine with those casue the head is alot looser and is absorbing the issues.
