Finally got the girls outside for some pics this morning. Here's a few to feed the addiction.

Once you try steak, is hard to go back to hotdogs.

thanks OICU, you were one of the folks who inspired me to get one.
I enjoy the field, its a farmers field right by my house. Nice field, very open, but kind of lonely, no one else flies there

@rcsavager, nice pics, is that the protos 500? how do you like it? i have the mini and have long considered getting a carbon 500.

The short story is that Becky and I finally got married and my flying buddy gave us his old Protos 500 as a little present. I took the ESC and motor and went shopping. Carbon kit minus electronics, FBL kit, stretch kit, mini vbar and Futaba sbus later you have what you see. That is actually a fresh built carbon 500 kit stretched right out of the box and has never seen a flybar. She sports SAB 470's that came with the stretch kit.

Flyability? Thing is nuts. I blew the tail out a few times last weekend but I was hauling the mail in a reverse power loop at the time. Might have to look at some carbon blades instead of those stockers. Otherwise, this little thing is a beast. I really enjoyed flying it. It's quiet, VERY smooth and has lots of sack for bug killing over the field. I'd say it kind of feels like the Logo with it's power but VERY light disk-loading. Definitely a keeper though. If I had it to do over again I'd do it the exact same way.

Won't be taking the TDR's place any time soon but I'm pretty happy with it to be honest. And being honest.. I trust this thing more than I did my Align 500ESP back in the day. And to think, this one didn't take $200+ in upgrades to fly well.

If you're on the fence... The Protos has my vote of confidence. Nice little bird. And 'thank you' for the compliment.

Well here is a rather quick photo of the heli she is about 85% completed. I still need to do the links, servo horns and radio setup/V-Bar setup slap on the main blades that's it. Hopefully it will be in the air Sunday of this week!

Ugly can be fixed stupid is forever!

I really like the black and yellow canopy.

Did you have it painted like that?

I can't answer for 1973's TDR, however my guess is that he just didn't use the centre piece.

The window decal is actually 3 pieces, right, left and center piece.
Colour of canopy and decals are standard Henseleit colours.

It looks pretty nice.

You are correct. I decided not to install the "middle" sticker as when I saw the look of the 2 separate side stickers I liked it. Thus decided not to install the center section.....

Marcos i have flown home with a nice box or 2 like that.....the baggage guys are actually pretty good about it because they usually put boxes in plastic totes.
