It is one step behind the trend and it includes the motor position as well.

One of my flying buds won that baby.

I will be seing it tomorrow along with all other goodies that came with it.

There is a video of Nick Maxwell flying it....here

Teaser...
He is undecided if keeping or letting it go. It came with everything minus Tx,Rx and batts.

HI,

your friend did not notice that there was also 3 x Nexus 616 MG HV ( 14kg / 0.07 / 6.8V) for the swash that i did put in the Beam AvantGarde box right before giving it to the organisators Tell him to double check before selling it as the servos are worth 140 buck each lol !!!

Too bad if he is not into electrics but that's how things are and he won it, so up to him
But if he wants to keep it then we will provide him all the support he needs. I would only recommend maybe swapping the motr with a 560 / 630 Kv one ( the Outrage 4125-560 is perfect, this is the one that is fitted in my heli, that Nick has flown) with a 12S battery setup, 2x 3000 mah and you get a very good CG and god flight time also. (13 T gear with a Castle creation in Set RPM mode and 12T with Kontronik / YGE).

Regarding the batteries positions, there is a foam pad supplied in the kit to protect the batteries angles and you simply need to put some velcro tape to get them really well retained. Nick did beat a little my Beam E6 at Orlando and batteries stayed in their location with no problems.

It's very hard in fact to make everybody happy with battery locations, but whenever you decided to fit them well there are always a risk for them to be damaged in a crash. We found that under the canopy helps a bit in case of crash and you can also put some foam tape into the canopy to "dampen" in case of crashing.

Shall you need any informations, please just let me know and i'll be happy to answer

BEst regards,
Fabien

It is out and being sold in Korea already. There are even improvements already made to it, with free upgraded parts to existing owners.

free upgraded parts to existing owners
Any details on this?

Flying bud is waiting for "amain" to stock up on parts prior to maiden.

It is indeed nice to look at. Definitely stands out of the unlimited view of aligned Aligns.

Hi,

it was for the Korean Version only because they had a pre release of the BEam AvantGarde, and Beam waited to have all feedback to bring the "wished" modification that made sense before exporting outside Korea.
Means that all products available now have integrated upgrades already

Best regards,
Fabien

PS: the Beam Avantgarde and Spares are already available at Fast Lad in UK, they have al in stock, such as Rc Market i think and in the next couple of days Techamp in Germany. USA is a matter of days now for availability.

What's the max battery weight while still maintaining a good COG? Looks like 3000 max. 2x3700 1.2KG would be too heavy? Maybe 1KG max?

I would treat it the same way one treats the 6HV. We are currently flying the 6HV with 2700s and 3250 with 3250 being upper limit.
