as far as wearing things out, think about it a little. The connecting rod has the exact same setup, you have a brass bushing riding on a steel shaft, how many times have you had to replace the con rod in your engine? It would definitely be the first to wear, not the steel... I think I'll give it a try, what can it possibly hurt????????? I have already blasted 2 os 55'2 due to bearings coming apart!

I decided to tear my motor apart because I heard some noise..I got it apart and I dont see any problems with the bearings. The motor has about 12 gallons thru it and I bought it used.(Its a 50sx-h).I cant believe people are only getting about 6 gallons thru a set of bearings.

Depends on fuel , how you store and rpm . I use Boca Bearing 12.88 econo bearing set and they do fine . I also use oven to remove and install to get motor heated evenly . I don't know if it matters but works well for me .

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

I forgot to mark which way the piston came out..Is the pin for the ring facing toward the front or back of the motor..(I know it will be facing at an angle)Thanks

If you left rod on piston on the end that goes on crank brass bearing , the beveled side goes towards crank. You can look for scratches where the rod rubs back plate also , it goes away from crank

On bottom of piston the higher side goes towards crank, I believe the pin faces front ,carb side

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)
