You shouldn't have any issues, be sure to pack the batteries in your checked luggage and wrap them in bubble wrap so they wont get banged around.

It will always depend on the TSA agents at your airport and if they will allow them but the majority of time you won't have an issue.

Don't check the batteries in your luggage!
They will take your batteries and your underwear.

Put your Lipos in your carry on bag. You will have a much better chance of getting them on the plane.

I think that should be the opposite Mike?
Whenever I travelled to Jamaica and taken my 450 there, I put the heli and TX in the checked luggage but left the battery packs in my carry on luggage (in my laptop bag). I carried 6 batteries and sometimes they take them and look at them and just put them back, other times they took them for a while and went to check with another supervisor or such, but eventually they always let them through.

One thing of note is that if one of the battery packs was to short out and catch fire, I'd want it in the cabin next to me so I can do something about it rather than in checked luggage out of reach where it will burn my plane down. You know?

I think also if you read the airlines rules and such, they do mention that batteries should be in carry on luggage not checked luggage. Not sure if that changed or not but I would look into it. Trex 700 batteries are much bigger than 450 batteries so they might be questioned more in carry on luggage but I would still prefer to have them there than in checked luggage.

Lastly I would also leave them in the discharged storage state in case something happens there is less energy in them.

Ha!
They will take your batteries and your underwear.
And your underwear????

Is that from experience? For what, to punish you for trying and making you free ball it on vacation?

From TSA: Safe Travel with Batteries "Keep batteries and equipment with you, or in carry-on baggage - not in your checked baggage! In the cabin, flight crew can better monitor conditions, and have access to the batteries or device if a fire does occur." Link : http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtra.../batteries.shtm

Good info guys, I've always had them in the checked luggage and never had an issue. Guess that will change going forward.

Hi guys.I am driving down to Fl Orlando december 8 leaving Brooklyn - Ny early
In the morning. If anybody wants to share a ride let me know.(i can also pick yo u up on the way )
The only "problem" is, that i am staying at my mom's house till december 30.
You would have to get your own hotel room and your plane ticket back home.
I can pick you up at the hotel to go fly for all 3 days + I can also drop you off at the airport.
If this sounds ok to you, shoot me a pm.

I have toyota rav 4 ,2007.space shouldnt be the problem..

Well, WalMart was the first place Ray had to stop at after arriving in Huntsville earlier this year, and it wasn't to pick up 6S batteries for Kyle's 700.

Maybe Ray had the batteries wrapped in his underwear...!!

Guess I shouldn't be touching any of Ray's batteries in Florida next month
