My buddy Bruce (bethomp) has a EU2000 standard. Wen I bought one we wanted to be able to parallel them for bigger events like Heli Invasion, Helis Over Tidewater, Electrics Over Tidewater and IRCHA.
I bought the companion because it seemed like a better option than a standard with an external parallel kit. The companion is essentially an EU2000 with the parallel functionality built in. he 15A standard plug and 30A NEMA are both active all the time. But the 20A only provides output of 13A when in single generator operation. I use this cable for the 30A jack http://www.northerntool.com/shop/to...55825_200355825

If you are thinking of running 2 Honda 2000s in the future and connecting both parallel, then get the companion.

But if you never going to do that, just get the regular EU2000i.

Im very happy with the regular 2000i.

Just picked up the Honda eu2000i at mayberrys.com for $899 shipped.
You have to login to see the price.

FALSE, it will provide 20A through the 120V plug.
I want to know how he's getting his 2000W generator to output 2400W.
He should be a nice guy and tell us all the trick he's using.

It is not impossible. It requires a bit of secret bodily fluid in precise mix (may take several days or weeks to produce the needed amount) to supercharge the system.

Yamaha is the way to go. The Yamaha generator is brushless. Has all bearing support as well, in places where the honda uses bushings.

All stuff i was shown in the yamaha dealer when I bought my gen. They had a cutaway of both generators. If you go on the yamaha website and look under specifications, it does say the inverter generator is brushless. Im not knocking hondas they are great, I just got sold on the Yamaha

Anyone ever try one of these? Looks very similar to the Yamaha EF2400iSHC, but with more output 3000W continuous (3300W peak) and less money.

They are all made in the same Shenzhen, China factories anyway.
