Can't you guys just believe I've been farting around for sooo long and today was the first three official flight in my life?? It was nice Sadly... I broke the bottom plate of my 500 because it was drifting a BIT too far and then I hit TH.. Little bit of epoxy and it's going to be back up in the air.. Man does that 5 minute of successful hovering make up for that loss.. So how was your first few flights?

HAVE FUN FLYING!! (ESPECIALLY AT IRCHA )

My first flight with a CP heli was by pure accident, sorta. I was in the process of getting the head setup on my first CP heli and I was spooling it up on the ground and testing my pitch and throttle curves to get it how I wanted. I THOUGHT I left my pitch curve so low that it would not take off but after my blades got up to speed I was feathering the throttle and up it went. I was in shock and disbelief at first and then I realized I needed to fly the dang thing. I did have some experience with a FP heli so I wasn't totally blind but close. Anyway I picked it up about eye level and hovered it around just trying to make myself believe I was in control. I was really amazed at how smooth and locked in it felt and I was totally hooked from that point on. I finished out the pack just picking it up and letting it back down trying to get better at landing(on training gear of course). I still have this 450 pro and have rebuilt it many times over but it is still a great heli and has grown with me through thick and thin. I have had many hobbies and played in all kinds of sports and there is nothing quite like building a model aircraft and flying something you built, its borderline amazing!

I noticed below your sig that you are rated as a Key Veteran....yet you just had your first flight???

I am also from Vancouver, maybe you could get some help that would get you up and running on the right foot quickly by coming out to our field.

Just a couple of observations.

I noticed you list a long list of good helis that you own. All are very easy to set-up for training.

I usually fly from the Ridge Fliers facility in Delta but have many times been to the facility in PoCo.

I know there used to be a number of experienced flyers there that could have quickly got you sorted (probably in one visit), so who was helping you there? It should not have taken you a year and a half to get your first hover. Specially looking at all the gear you have.

Do you know Jeff, 'Super' Dave, Steve and Yang? And some other people that fly heli's I haven't met yet... Dave helped me setup my freya that's going to be sitting until I master the 500..

You need less time on the keyboard and more time with the transmitter.
