put it this way....

to become a company representative you usually go to them via email, phone and video.

to become a sponsored pilot, they come to you via funfly.

ive been both in the past and can say i much rather be a company representative than pilot, the expectation and stress is much less while still benefiting from the +30% discount...

yes being a company pilot is nice at times, especially when testing new products and such but i found it to extremely time intensive and became more of a chore, taking the 'FUN' out of the hobby....!

As long as you don't forget where you came from. Some sponsored pilots I know, one in particular thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread. When people ask him questions at funflys he tells them "do a google search". That is pretty sad when your ego is inflated because you are sponsored. He must have a small winky.

No matter what you have to build a good rep and be consistently in spot light and innovative . I found you pay more for expenses than the savings of being sponsored . Myself started a business rc heli related building and flight training and by word of mouth my reputation keeps me busy paying for almost 100% of my hobby . I no longer have business but still have customers that keep me busy .

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)
