CHINA: "America Needs To Accept The Painful Fact That The Good Old Days Are Over"

Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/chin...8#ixzz1UM1PdwMK

China's official comment on the S&P downgrade was harsh and condescending. Released through Xinhua (via Reuters) the statement condemned America for its "debt addiction" and "short-sighted" political wrangling.

"The U.S. government has to come to terms with the painful fact that the good old days when it could just borrow its way out of messes of its own making are finally gone," Xinhua wrote.

China said it will accelerate diversification away from US treasuries, and that meanwhile it demands reform: "China, the largest creditor of the world's sole superpower, has every right now to demand the United States address its structural debt problems and ensure the safety of China's dollar assets," Xinhua said.

Now see what happens after the US downgrade >

The statement also called for a new global currency: "International supervision over the issue of U.S. dollars should be introduced and a new, stable and secured global reserve currency may also be an option to avert a catastrophe caused by any single country," Xinhua said.

The truth really hurts! To bad truth never is a factor in DC.

You really have been the RR muckraker, but in this one I agree with the headlines. Anyone with any foresight would have seen this coming. Solomon said >2500 years ago that "the borrower is servant to the lender". China has been lending us money for years and the time has come when they want to direct what we do. Obama thinks we can keep spending more than we've got, borrowing money we have no plan to repay, and somehow everything will turn out well. Look for more pronouncements like this, not just from China, but from the Japanese and Arabs who hold our Treasury bills and will demand they be repaid in something other than inflated, worthless dollars. steve.

Too bad the ones who voted for BamBam have no idea what this means, even for them in the long run.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

All is according to plan. Giving China most favorite trading status was an important step. Remember when a Japanese Admiral warned his Govt that Americas Industrial might was awesome? Now our service economy is awesome, but it doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

AUGUST 1st -- SEPTEMBER 1st

Well over 50 yrs ago I knew a lady who would not buy Christmas gifts if they were made in China. Her daughter will recognize her in the following.

Did y'all see that Diane Sawyer had a special report last month titled "Made in America"? Her team removed ALL items from a typical, middle class family's home that were not made in the USA.

There was hardly anything left IN THE ENTIRE HOUSE besides the kitchen sink. Literally!!! During the special they brought in truckloads of items - USA made - to replace everything and talked about how to find these items, the difference in price, etc..

It was interesting that Diane said that if every American spent just $64 more than normal on USA made items this year, it would create something like 200,000 new jobs!

I WAS BUYING FOOD THE OTHER DAY AT WALMART and ON THE LABEL OF SOME PRODUCTS IT SAID 'FROM CHINA'

FOR EXAMPLE THE "OUR FAMILY" BRAND OF THE MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN 'FROM CHINA'

I WAS SHOCKED SO FOR A FEW MORE CENTS I BOUGHT THE “LIBERTY GOLD” BRAND SINCE IT'S FROM CALIFORNIA.

Are we Americans as dumb as we appear --- or --- is it that we just do not think while the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets?

70% of Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended.

Why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges? DO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA !!

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China ' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong ), simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without.

Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an example. The point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.

THINK ABOUT THIS: If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's 4 billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!!

Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on AUGUST 1st and continue it until SEPTEMBER 1st. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they might have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.

Remember, August 1st - September 1st !!!!!! START NOW.

Send this to everybody you know. Let's show them that we are Americans and NOBODY can take us for granted.

If we can't live without cheap Chinese goods for one month out of our lives, WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET!

Pass it on, America .
Well instead of doing it for just 1 month why not try to do it all the time???

LETS PUT AMERICANS BACK TO WORK!

Obviously very, very few folks fully understand what is at stake here.

When was the last time you saw a F350 super duty cruising the streets of some enpoverished province in the back end of China ?

No more.....all the little peons world wide will have bicycles if they are well behaved, and enough gruel/rice to sustain them for the day, and not one bean more. Thats the plan.

To gain their point on a budget matter, Republicans did something unprecedented in the annals of American government. They made a bargaining chip out of the public credit of the United States. In a well-functioning democracy, certain threats are just not used, and the threat to force the country into default should rank high on the list of unacceptable threats
Yet congressional Republicans not only issued the threat, they did so successfully. They have changed the rules of the game in ways that will have ramifications for a long time. Maybe Democrats will copy them. Or maybe Republicans will do it again. Either way, something that was once unthinkable has become thinkable.

Here's google's "Made in USA" search. Looks like "Made in the USA" may be catching on.

fwiw..

I'd love to buy a "Made in America" heli...But I do not believe such a thing exists...Some or all components are Chinese in origin...
I also believe we could make helis in the US...IF the government would remove the myriad of environmental and regulatory roadblocks that have strangled the rest of American business...
