Well tried to get mine in the air today... Didn't go well. Due to all the slop in the spindle and dampener I could not get the blades to track at all... I spent half a tank of fuel messing with it. I know others have has issues with the spindle/dampener fit.

I had a stong feeling I was going to have issues with it but I thought I would give it a try.

Anyone know if the stock dampeners or other brand dampeners will fit?

Pretty sad to spend 300.00 on a FBL head and it not work. Guess I'll have to go back to the RJX FBL head so I can fly at least until Avant bumps up quality control.

I don't crash... I land with style

If you have any issue contact Avant's customer service at aurora@avantrc.com

That's the same head we are all flying without any issues so it might have a particular problem. Remember it's the first batch so there can be some small details here and there to correct.

If you contact them they will take care of your issue and get you flying right.

Im pretty sure George knows Avant will take care of it.

Its frustrating to wait months for something, and have it not be useable.

If that true, MA sells a 6-pack of different dampers for tuning.

Xcell one piece dampener fits.
No they don't. The Rigidcore head has different size dampeners.
Besides dampeners that are not rigid like the ones in the picture don't work well in this FBL head.
The easiest way is is to contact Avant and have them sort your problem and get your head working right. They take care of any customer issue very quickly. I already let them know you were having an issue with your head.

Tradhunt, I'm sorry to hear of your frustration, but I am happy to hear that I'm not the only one with a poor fit between the spindle / FBL dampener.

Here is a picture of what the gap looks like on my dampeners.
Spindle od - 7.9mm
Dampener id - 8.2
Total gap - 0.3mm

Although I'm a long way from flying mine, I did figured out that if you use the old Hard O-Ring type dampener (AV00-200-716) with the FB semi rigid dampener (AV000130), you not only get a nice tight fit, but they also have exactly the same dimensions as the FBL dampeners. Since the older Avant hard O-Ring type dampeners are no longer available, they could be substituted with the JR Vibe 50 dampeners (JRH70518) which seem to have the same dimensions.

Looks like I will have to contact Avant as well

I've been in contact with CX and they are taking care of the problem. Hopefully I'll have the parts by next weekend and will be able to give it another try.

remotemadness, I see your video is of a FB head, which as mentioned above uses different dampeners. However it is indeed the same issue for the FBL dampeners. I have 4 sets of the FB semi rigid dampeners and all of them have some play (As shown in your video). The FBL dampeners in the RigidCore head have even more play. Would really like to see semi rigid dampeners for both the FB & FBL heads with NO play at all.

I've been in contact with Avant (Aurora@AvantRC.com) regarding this and they have been very helpful, and will be sending me new parts.

I was given the impression that it's comparable whether it's FB or FBL..

They should be the same isn't it.. Or is there a different semi-rigid dampener that I don't know..

Or is there a different spindle for the two..

I've just contacted CX.. There's where I bought them from.. If they can't help me.. Then I'll contact Avant..

The FB and the FBL dampeners are quite different. The FBL are of the same design, but are longer than the FB ones.

Tradhunt, is there any play between the new spindle and FBL dampeners?
I'm curious as the FB dampeners have always had a rather loose fit, and I'm wondering if Avant have now got it right with the FBL dampeners or not.
