Use your swash mix to get more cyclic "throw". In my radio I increase the aileron and elevator number in the swash menu to get more action out of the servos. Only adjust these in small increments as it can make a very stable heli get squirrly pretty quick. If you use 100% cyclic throws you are likely to get binding when adding collective and cyclic so be carefull with the settings you use here.

lighter paddles, cy paddles are insane, add more cyclic pitch, longer flybar, these all increase the reactivity of the heli

What blades are you running?

funny, but...what is the combined weight of your stickers?

I can't go past 100 in my radio for my swash mix but I can on the dual rates, mine go to 140 but I don't know about spektrum. And yes you can increase just aileron and elevator and leave pitch at 50 if you like it there. I am at 86, 86, 72 in my mix and I get pretty quick rolls and flips. I get binding when I go inverted with too much collective so I don't go any more than this but I do use a dual rate with more A and E and it is almost uncontrolable its so fast. I can get my 250 flipping really fast but for doing most maneuvers I don't give full stick input I just kinda feel out the flip rate I'm comfortable with, about halfway. As you get your heli to be more responsive your hovering can and will suffer as you trade off your resolution for more throw in the control surface/servo. This is where expo comes in handy. You can get the big throw of the servo arm and keep your high resolution at close to stick center. The trade off is you lose precise control when you are away from midstick. And when you are out there flipping the heli you still need to make small angle corrections to keep youself rolling in a certain direction. As with everything you need to find the happy medium where you get the roll rate you desire and the control you need.

To make sure you don't have binding; Spin the head by hand and watch the point right before the head stops. You want to be inputting maximum deflctions on both sticks and make sure the head doesn't want to prematurely stop.

Of my FB'd 250, 450, 500, & 600 - the 500 is the most sensitive to excessive throws and will pop a link if you don't test for binding. One other thing I've noticed is the washout arms will develop dimples on the outer face right in the middle, so watch for this as a sign of binding.

I highly recommend a cyclic ring if your radio doesn't have the function. You can eek out a few more points of throw in the swash menu by eliminating the corners.

Also recommend the Quick UK Rocket links. They'll instill a little more confidence that a link isn't going to give way. The links (either long or short) can be trimmed down using a dremel cut-off wheel for use on the grip arm links.

fwiw..

WC..

If you can find a set...Get a set of the Align "Square" 450 paddles..Put them on in place of the stockers, and lose the weights...This will be in between the flip rate of the stock paddles without weights and the setup you are running now....Fly it a bit, get used to it, then try the stockers without weights....Step at a time...

Very good all round paddles for 3D are the Gorillas...When you're ready.

Good Luck!

John.
