I am just about ready to pull my hair out
I have the above mentioned combination on my Freya, all set up for F3C work, powered by 12S 5000 battery pack, running a Kontronik 700-45.
Given how well some of you run the 701 in gov mode with speed controllers, I had high hopes that my particular combination will be a winner too. As far as I know the only pro running this is one of the Japanese pilots, but I recall someone else mentioning having this combo, but can't recall who.
Anyway, I got IU1 at 1480 for hovering and IU2 at 1980 for aero. All good in IU1, but in IU2 I had a number of surges (rpm spike if you like).
The 701 is set up correctly (at least I think it is), it governs fine to the set rpms in both modes.
The ESC is in logarithmic curve mode (according to Jeti that is for around 50% throttle usage across the flight) but running the heli on the bench still results in a surge a minute or two into IU2 mode. It repeats again after a few minutes. It sounds like the CC governor overspeed. Of course on the bench runs unloaded so it can't be a compensation issue like in the case of CC.
I am at the point of ditching the governor of the 701 in favour of the ESC's governor if I can't cure this issue, so I welcome any comments/ideas from the experts.
