A few years back I recall issues with radio interferance from the plug wire. MA had a sheild that went over the plug wire. Problem is that it would cause me to have no spark for some wiered reasons and I still had interferance. Someone along the way recommended an NGK noise supressing plug cap that is a big bakelight fitting. I dont recall the spark plug that went with it and Toxic Al sent me the suggested plug for the motor however its to short, the cap of the plug does not make it to the top of the NGK where it would snap over the plugs terminal Its like 15MM short or more if I recall. Does anyone know what plug went with this GUH230 engine that was used with that NGK noise suppressing connector. If I recall it screwed into the wire after cutting off the old connector.

it will fit the
  1. NGK CR7HS
  2. NGK CR7HIX or the Denso IUF22 which are Iridium versions
  3. Champion Z9Y
and probably some other cross references

actually you don't cut off the connector you just pull the boot off and remove the copper connector. If you're using the std coil mount on the side of the motor, there isn't much extra wire to be cutting it.

The metal wire ground consistently failed because it was usually installed too close to the copper end and the spark would across the air gap. Tell tale was that the motor was very hard to start.

Thanks Carey

Thanks I have been trying to figure this plug out for a while, could not find the right ones. ordered two different types and they don't work. Presently I was told the NGK 3066 - CMR7H was the right plug but its to short. It does not make contact with the wire.

Yea I think that was right pulled the boo toff and screwed it into the new cover. so these plugs are longer correct ?

What is the difference in the actual plugs that you know of. I was running it on camper fuel. is one plug hotter than the other or different resistance? Which have you used. On line they also look as short as the one I have, this cap requires a longer plug.

Thanks

Brett

here's a quick photo

the one on the left is the CMR7H
the one on the right is the CR7HIX (CR7HS), its the right size

I don't know that there's a significant difference in the operation of the plugs, they are just different formats
