Thanks BungeeMike...

I have had many different Ap helicopters over the years including three different VARIO front mount helicopters.

I had great success with my other varios and was holding this one as a back up with intentions to "modify" it to fit my needs.

I just sold the other custom Vario (literally 6 hours ago), so this one has to go as it was my last VARIO...it just happened to be a WHIRLYBIRD....

I am going all BERGEN.....

Bergen is great, can't beat their customer service. I had them take my call on a Sunday.

I AGREE...

I have three Bergen Helicopters currently, and I am working on a 4th.

Made in USA, Great customer support, and parts that are ALWAYS available... you cannot go wrong there...

Not to mention the Bergen gang is the best ....

I had a few Bergens, a few Varios...never had much luck with either when it came to smoothing out the video to be like glass. Always was tinkering with something trying to get it just right, and if I did finally get it right, it wasn't consistent.
I agree with the customer service...can't beat the BERGEN guys.
I recently got rid of everything and bought an electric multi-copter...last ditch effort at making this work...

I am sorry to hear that i-fly-aerials...

My newest Bergen build will include the newest front mount from photo shipone 3x PRO V2. This will address a lot of "concerns" with the bergen as a true aerial video platform.

I have had GREAT luck with both the VARIO and the BERGEN platforms...however they both required a lot of fine tuning. That is just the nature of this business...no matter what you fly....BUT....Once dialed in....AWESOME...

I decided on BERGEN in the end for many reasons. Now with the custom front mount from ps1.....I think it will be the best of both worlds...

Good luck with the multis as well.. I have tried MANY and spent many hours and dollars trying to get it to work consistent. I had no luck in wind but great success indoors or on VERY light wind days...

With the new DJI multicopter autopilot....this may change the multi viability as a video platform, including in wind......time will tell....

In the mean time keep us posted to your success with the multi....please post video when available..

MAHALO,

Thanks Jason,
I hope it goes well...I went with the T-Copter 700 from Airfoil. Will post video when I get some time. All the fine-tuning was something I just was'nt good at with the gassers. I miss my Bergen though...flew great and straight...just never got usable video.
Post some video when you have time of the Bergen with the PS1 mount...very curious to see that. DJ (PS1 owner) put one of his mounts on my Bergen, as I live around the corner from him, it helped a little bit...but my Bergen probably wasnt nearly as dialed in as yours.
