ok, i make my own tail booms that i thought they were the right length and i use the nine eagles tail blade but my tail still wont hold. i measured from where the boom plugs into the frames to where the boom plugs into the tail (so the length of tube that is not inserted into something else) and it is 124mm. are my tail booms too short? is that why my tail is not holding?

Ok
What radio are you using? If you have to much positive or negative pitch it will bog the motor and cause tail spin. Also if you are not smooth on the collective it will fight back.

Most people are extending the boom 1 inch. I don't believe it is necessary if you have a digital radio and your setup is good.

Give more info and we can offer more advice

im using the DX4e that came with the heli, but the tail is not locked even in hover. it should at least not be hunting while in hover.

yes
Yes it should hold in a hover. Is the main gear push up all the way? Do you have 0 pitch at mid stick? Does it have good climb out when you give positive collective?

Try tinning the tail plug pins, just a light coating of solder. ...my 2c

Warning...This hobby is very addictive and may damage your wealth

Ok
That's it, change the motor. That is one of the signs when the motor gets weak. I'm on my 3rd motor in 100 flights

i wish they made a brushless motor for the tail! ive been running brushless motors for so long that i didnt even think that it may have gone bad??? tail motor? go bad? what?

we've been spoiled by brushless i think. plus when was the last time i put 100 flights on a heli in 4 weeks??? thats crazy

let me know if you can please. i just printed off the instructions for cleaning them. some people are cleaning them and putting a drop of corrosionX on the contacts to keep dirt off. id like to do that, but im scared to burn out the servos because they are out of stock at more dealers right now, plus ircha is next week end.

I found this from that other forum and it works great!

DeoxIT GOLD
Contact conditioner/Enhancer
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003D8EA7A
Easy to use didn't cause any problems. Used a Q-tip to put it on and a clean one to remove.
I have done it several times
