In order to cut 16.5 million in FAA budget, they fail to pass the bill and in the end, costs 200 million per month (or more) in uncollected fees.

All because the Dems want to unionize...

I don't understand why anyone in the Federal or State governments are allowed to be unionized, period.

hell it was FDR that said it should never be allowed, ever. Contrary to the good of the country was his belief, and he was right.
But to me, the over riding thing on this story is that in order to shave 16.5 off the budget, we have lost 200 million so far in fees we haven't collected.

But the airlines have still been collecting the fees, I wonder if they will force them to pay up?

More to IT than just on the surface
Presently :

Their are over 231 Airport Construction and Refurbishment project's under way across the Nation. Stopped - Short

Wonder what the over all total sum $$$$ of those project's alone are in million's or a couple of billion's out of the pool of tax payers $$$$. Wonder who legislated that ?? Mr. FAA ???

Be side's ---ever seen a airport with a pot hole///??????

I always wondered about resource allocation -

They put in a thumb to pull out a plum -- except some one beat them too the plum -

Regrettably their are over 60,000 Union Labor workers pulled off the projects.

NASA being mothballed was 45,000 people along with the all ancillary support service's, industries and employee's.

4000 hard working people out of work. The contractor employees (non-govt) will get hit hardest. The cost for putting construction projects of these kind is enormous and will cost billions at the endo of the day. much of the work is towards development of a replacement for our aging, overloaded, and outdated traffic control systems. Eventually this will translate into a safety issue, not immediately, but funding will have to come from somewhere to pay for the self inflicted delays and that means taking short cuts.

All so Congress can recess. I guess they all worked so hard, they are just exhausted.

Just go ahead and abolish the FAA, the TSA has made it safe to fly anyway!

the Senate passed the FAA funding this morning. Sounds like the poor bastards had to put off their one month vacation by a day or two ir order to vote.
