I thought they were decals, but some pics it's easy to tell they're plastics strips? What are these?

So there's actually removed section of CF to accommodate . . . plastic?

Wow, just looked at a picture of a frame side. What's it like 1.5mm at the narrowest section?

I think they are pressed into a slot in the cf? I sold my 700e a while back so I don't have it here to look. Maybe someone else can chime in.

They're built into frame as batt rails. They stick out maybe 1.5 mm at highest point no biggie. Easy to sand and mask and paint black, that's what I did.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

I talking about the tiny piece of frame that's left at the rear of the frame. Is this not the first thing to break in a crash?

I would think the frame may even need to be adhered to the rails for maximum strength.

It looks like they may even be glued form the factory? http://www.readyheli.com/H70042-T-R...de_p_36912.html

Yes, the rails are moulded into the frames which means if you break them off gotta by a whole new frame! But haven't heard of that happening to anyone.

Btw the new 600E Pro has the plastic mount for the servos moulded into its frames. Guess Align is loving experimenting with this tech!

part of align's reason for molding plastic straight into their frame is that it makes it harder for people to copy their design and offer 3rd party frames.

looks like the new 500 design is also featuring this phenomena

Who cares... its just money...
