Ok guys...
I know you LOVE gassers very much but Why don't you jump to electrics ?

price of LiPos is high ?
LiPos don't last very much ?
flight time is too short ?
12S packs are overprived ?
chargers are very expensive ?
damage of you car battery ?
replacing batteries sucks! ?
electrics have to much power ?
time lost for changing batteries ?
gas is cheap ?
refuel takes you 1 minute ?
you like smell of gas ?
you hate electrics ?
you hate generators at the field.
you like gasser vibrations ?
you like gas engines sound ?
you like to mix oil/gas
you like engines issues ?
you like home conversions ?

Alot of us do have electrics...

But gas ENGINES are well addictive, cause you can tinker with them, and lets face it, some guys are getting 30 minute flight times, on less than 35c worth of fuel, every single day.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

Well, I went from gasser (231) to electric, same blade size, 710mm.
My reasons.
1) No noise, can actually hear mechanics.
2) No hot muffler. Burned my bare leg pretty good once.
3) No engine vibration to contend with.
4) No tuning issues that might destroy a $400 engine.
5) 2X5S packs are cheap. (I fly 10S)
6) My field has a charging station. No noisy gen.
7) I love electrics. (Retired electronics engineer)
8) I love to modify and mess with gear ratios and boom lengths.
9) The smell of gas gives me headaches.
10) Storage after flight, no draining fuel or worry about drippings on my car seats.
11) Carry chopper out to the flight area and walk back to flying position, no jerking some rope till your arm falls off.
12) Starter rewind spring breaks.
13) Starter engament dog wears out.
14) Won't start even if you use really bad words.
15) Muffler falls off during flight.
16) Burn your fingers picking up fallen muffler.
17) Flight times are limited to 12 mins, allows you to regain your composer, excuse to land and breath. Relax your pucker factor.
18) You like to poke fun at gassers.
.
.
Before some takes this seriously and flames me, this is just in fun.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Electric heli's are amazing in their power and overall performance.
That much power is a waste on me however. I'll trade some power for 15 to 20 minute run times and try to do things slower.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

For me personally.
Flight times, plain & simple.
At my stage of learning, I need to get as much stick time as possible.

Probably several reasons
One is I like the noise/roar of the engine.
I like to fly alot, over 4000 flights/1000 hours says so!
I spend the day at the field and wonder if I'm going to run out of gas, but can't possibly do it even though I fly all day. Electrics I'd need a whole lot of batteries not to mention a generator to keep things going.

One day my friend came and said, "can I use you car battery to charge my batteries for my electric heli?" I said sure, go for it. We had a few flights and laughs between us that day, and when I went to leave my truck battery was dead. Yeah, HE needs a generator

I flew today in strong wind with my gasser doing autos from every direction. With the generator installed, I fly-Fill-Fly-Fill and never have to charge.... I flew such long flights today I actually ran the tank dry doing autos.

Autos
How many autos do you get in a tank?

I was getting about 34 autos in about 35 minutes time on a 16oz.

I was flying the Predator today with full power climbs flying the Hanson 26 Pro Plus and I would do 16 min flights filling the tank only to 3/4. I didn't count the autos I was having way to much fun

Don't get me wrong, I love the smell of nitro and have a bunch of nitro birds and one electric. I really get a kick out of pulling up to the gas station for heli fuel though

Paul Macha?

Look very closely at this accounts posts and non profile. Something is not right about this at all. This account and poster only seems to exist to drum up controversy. I smell something fishy.

It's still splotchy and broken if you read some of the other posts. This appears to be a deflection. How better to disguise yourself than to pretend you aren't interested in what you are most interested in?

1) Bashes the competition
2) Posts in the gasser forums about interest in gassers
3) Now posts about reasons to switch to electrics.

I saw this guy when the account was first created. 3 out of the first 10 posts bashed the gasser competition. This post could be considered a bash to the entire gasser industry as a whole, indirectly. Of course it could also be reverse psych since posting a question of this nature in a die hard gasser forum is obviously going to get mostly PRO gasser responses....thus furthering the gasser movement and helping to disguise the OPs true identity and intentions.

Whatever the reasons and even if it isn't Paul...he/she/it is certainly acting very suspect.

I'd rather go back to moan'n about engine horsepower than think someone is in the gasser forums trying to manipulate things.

Prove me wrong.
