Man, that whole story bums me out. Im terribly sorry for the string of poor luck. It would be almost "kinder" if the statistical gods had taken one machine a year, as opposed to all in one day.

Yeah, I would much rather have it spread out. It's also not a good time, I'm working on moving soon and just put 4 grand into paint and carpet for my house to make it easier to sell. Oh well. That's life.

Sorry, no pics, just imagine a pile of servos and stuff with a few small plastic bits attached and that's what it looks like.

Sorry to hear what happened. It is never good to hear when a total rekit is necessary. Just a little bit of time and hopefully you will be back again.

Sorry to hear of all your bad luck, hang in there! I just planted my new 600SE a few days ago/about 27 flights on it,my favorite heli lately, playing with rolling figure eights. Luckly my carbon frames survived, but lost the front battery TP 5s 5000. The damage was not too bad, still cost me $260.00...ended up buying two more TP batts. at warranty price for $220.00.

This hobby can be very trying at times. I crashed a Raptor 50 5 times one yr. trying to learn inverted backwards...but I always come back to helicopters.

Had a chance to do a post mortem and go through it today. After cleaning out the motor, it works fine, so all the electronics survived with the exception of the screen on the CGY750 won't light up.

So the culprit is... me. The missing swash ball is the key. The one on the opposite side of the swash was a little loose as well, and when I removed it, it screwed securely into the side that is missing. So basically, that ball must have came out, blade went to full pitch, boom strike, death. I must have missed the locktite on those, and didn't catch it on my preflight. I tugged on the links like I always do, but didn't notice any movement.

Unfortunately the tail section is no where to be found. I went and walked the corn field for about an hour and couldn't find it. I haven't disassembled the grips to check the bearings in there, but I assume they are fine, the ones in the frame are. I think the plastic frame breaking up saved a lot of stress on the other components.

So here's the repair list:

Canopy
Both frames
swash ball
Link set
Grips (I wouldn't trust them again)
Main gear
Everything from the boom back

That adds up to $260 at Ready Heli before the canopy, which is another $80, and the blades at $90, plus whatever Futaba charges me to fix the 750. So not counting the 750, blades, and my 2 dead packs I figure it's about $400 to get the airframe back together, since there is bound to be some misc stuff that I'm missing. A new kit is $670, so repairing mine is right on the line where I can justify repairs since I generally call it quits at 60% of the cost. I'm hoping to find the tail after harvest time, a lot of stuff turns up then. That would drastically change the economics of the repair.

So until I decide what to do I bought Riq's 600 that he had in the classifieds. It's RTF, has the Kaos frames, and a Vbar on it. I'd rather have the plastic frames since that's a big part of what makes a Logo special to me, but I will give them a try, maybe I'll change my mind. I've ordered the same canopy (again, RH must love me, I bet I've made the neon red and blue canopy a best seller this month with me ordering a third in 3 weeks), and I'll have it up in the air soon. Just have to upgrade the vbar to 5.1 (V4 doesn't take sbus input, and that's what I've got for it), and set it up on my radio.

I'll keep the carcass of my 600SE in a box while I decide what to do. If I decide not to rebuild it I'll keep some parts for spares and get rid of the rest. I've thrown away the unsalvageable bits, and that leaves me with 3 frame pieces that I'll keep around in case I decide to rebuild, just because it'll be easier to build it up again with me being able to pull the screws out of the broken bits. Here's a pic of what's left.

No, I never really go to fun flies, but I was planning on going this year. As it turns out, we are trying to move back to NH, so I had to make a decision of Oshkosh or IRCHA, and Oshkosh won since my dad wanted to go, and with my son it made 3 generations of Crego pilots there (assuming my kid follows in my, and my father's footsteps). Couldn't pass that up. Hopefully next year.

OK, I've got it back together again. I combined the Logo I bought from Riq with parts from mine to make one heli. I used parts from mine since it was essentially brand new. So it's got my head, his grips, his tail, my gears, my landing gear, his Kaos frame and his tail. For electronics it's got the Vbar that I got from Riq (upgraded to 5.1 Pro since my 750 is at Futaba getting fixed), the Actro from him, my Jive, my 9188 on the tail, and his 8717s on cyclic.

I even got the same canopy for the 3rd time. It doesn't have the long SE boom anymore, and no more Edge 623s, now a set of RT610s. I gotta say, I don't like the Kaos frame. It takes a lot of what is cool about the Logo and removes it. I'm probably going to get rid of the frame and go to a stock frame set.

But anyway, here it is, I just have to clean up the wiring, and it'll be flying. I may do the maiden tomorrow, although I only have one 10S pack since the last crash destroyed the ones I was flying, I've got a 10S Turnigy on the way from the US warehouse, it only cost me $40 since they refunded me for the tail servo that caused the first crash of this heli.

My current plan is to make a 500 out of my remaining parts at some point to teach my son to fly with. I basically just need another frame and tail and I could have it in the air.

If anyone is interested in owning a Kaos G10 frame, I'd trade it for a stock frame in perfect shape ready to go with bearings and idler pulleys off a Logo, and an extra right and left frame half. That way we could each ship our frames and swap the electronics into them, and I'd have extra sides to build up my dead one. The Kaos has bearings (including thrust bearings), and idler pulleys.

It's nice, but I really prefer the plastic.

According to Futaba my CGY 750 "Is not cost effective to repair". Damn it. I guess I'll be flying V-bar.

I don't trust MKS servos, stick to futaba, I got 2 9188 outrage servos, the exibit strange behaviour in my opinion, sold them before flying them.

Get the BLS256HV instead

My 9188 is amazing. I'd gladly trade the 251 in my Rave for it.

Got the re-re-re-maiden done today. Flew amazing. I got lucky on the vbar setup, that thing was perfect off the bench, save for too high on tail gain. Easily the truest flying heli I've flown. Everything was great until the motor shut off during a tic-toc over the corn at about 100 feet during the inverted section. THe head came close to stopping by the time I got it flipped over and leveled out, but I managed to get it spooled up again, and stretched the auto over the corn to land on the field. It tipped over with almost 0 blade speed, everything is fine.

The Jive 80 is giving me 8 flashes which is over current. Never had that before, but I was running a totally different motor on a different ratio, so it's entirely possible it is drawing to much with the Actro. I'll put my Scorpion back in with the gearing I was using and go back to being happy. Too bad, that Actro was bad ass, nice power, quiet, but the KV is really too high for the Mod 1 gears.

Just got back online from an island.
That actro is baddass, I agree. I ran it with a jazz 55, but only on "old" lipos, even then it would thermal on hot days.
Glad to hear you got a logo back in the air.
