Looks good, but don't you have the tail grips reversed? They're set up for trailing edge control, tail grips are typically set for leading edge control.

edit, next morning: hey, did someone flip the grips and update the pictures?

I cranked mine up to 1975 for a couple of flights just to see what it was like... besides the tweaked blade bolts the amount of pop was amazing. I went back to my usual 1750rpm after that brief test.

2200 headspeed has to be nuts as light as a 600SE is.

Just curious, I keep hearing that the Logo cant fly with headspeeds above 1900 because of bend blade bolts. Are the main or tail bolts the ones that are bending. Has anyone tried stronger bolts?

You also need to upgrade the tail. I heard the plastic blade grips wont hold up to the higher rpms. You would have to drill out the holes on the main blade grips. I was curious about that but never tried it. I was not sure if the material in the stock ones would hold up.

Got it. Tail has been upgraded already and have a spare set of main blade grips. I think I will try to drill to a bigger size and use the Align bolts and see what happens.

Let us know. Take the bolts of after you go up on head speed and do a couple of tic tocs. You wont be able to tell if they bend from looking at them installed on the heli. The Align bolts might be to short.

The problem with the Mikado blade grips is that they have molded hexes in them to encapsulate the head of the 4mm blade screw and also hold the 4mm locknut.

If you were to enlarge them to fit 5mm hardware you'd have to shave away quite a bit of material and that would weaken the blade grip right at a very high stress area.

Personally I wouldn't do it, removing material from a blade grip is asking for a failure IMO. If you want to spin 1900+ headspeeds on a 600SE I'd simply use an aftermarket head that has grips already setup for 5mm bolts.

Don't forget to upgrade the tail hub & grips too.

I do see what you are saying an didn't think of that. Now I am curious if there are some blade grips out there that will work on the Mikado headblock. Just don't have the cash to get the Kasama head (EXPENSIVE).

You can use any other head as long as its 10MM main shaft.

Yeah, I figured that much. Have you heard about what works and what doesn't?

Nice bird. It kind of looks how Mikado should've built it in the first place. Since they skipped building what everyone wanted (Logo 700) they should take a few tips from you. Very slick man, hope it goes all Aces in the end. Be sure to post a video for us.Once you try steak, is hard to go back to hotdogs.

RJX head
Has anyone had experience in drilling the main shaft for the RJX head? If so, what did you use and can it be done with common tools around the house?
