Just ordered my 91hz-r 3D
I Got a 700n off runryder last week should be here on thursday and just ordered my new motor tonight. What pipe you guys like the most on the hz-r 3d? Ill order one right when I find the one that I like.

Funtech B301 works.

I am using the OS Powerboost pipe though. Haven't flown it yet but i'll let you know how the pipe is.

Hi guys,

i had today "two" flights with the new engine & OS Power Boost.

M-Needle 1 turn open
H-Needle 1,5 turn open

The engine is realy realy powerfull - unbelievable.

The second flight was not so good.
The engine begins to run lean and change back in normal run. Lean - normal - lean - normal....

The carburator stuck.
Now i will try with push pull on the throttle lever.

Has anybody the same problem?

I would suspect an air leak in the tank or lines. Also make sure your check valve is not clogged up from rummimg exessevly rich, which could very likely happen...

I had the same problem, ended up destroying the engine trying to work it out, probably a bad regulator.

Same here, 91HZ-R runs great. I just sold that engine as it was on the cheap. I have another one and so far its running great, but only have about 6 flights on it.

what do you mean by "The carburator stuck"? do you mean that literally? because that's what I had with my old carb on my old CSpec, the carb got rough in the turning and then couldn't turn anymore so the throttle servo was going against strong resistance. I opened it up and it turns out that the rotor guide screw was rubbing off material from the carb rotor.

Totally p3$$ed me off. I could not fixed it so threw the carb in the bin. Got a HZ-R Speed 3C to try out tomorrow to see if it's going to do what it just did to you.

The Hatori SB21FH "Torque" version does a better job on this motor than the OS PowerBoost, it just sounds a lot healthier and definitely produces more torque.

I've had this binding problem several times on OS 50 size carbs. Push/pull did not fix the problem. The engines I had the problems on were well used and I thought the carbs had wear that caused this. I used my Dremel with a cloth polishing pad and aluminum polish to carefully polish the inside of the carb smooth. I also polished the tip of the retainer screw smooth. It does fix the problem but I'm not sure I'd do this to a brand new HZ-R 3D carb. You shouldn't have to.

Hi,

now i have push pull and the problem is gone!
Yes it is true!

M-Needle 0,75 open
H-Needle 1,25 open

Engine runs cool and powerful. Torque is top!

Great engine, i will buy one more.

then it might be the fact that not using push pull make the lever lean the carb rotor to induce rubbing, so maybe push pull keeps it in balance.

I will make mine push pull too, and I'll be testing out the engine tomorrow.

How about idle? on the 91HZ-R 3D?

i had to lean my idle screw quite a lot to get it to idle? or after the glow went out it just stop unless i was quick to spool up

never had this befor until now on the 3D motor
part from that engine runs real well no other running pub like in the above post with just single throttle arm and futaba 3050 servo
needle settings seem to be alot leaner than the OS 91HZ-R

just breaking it in, only 4 flights so far, so can't comment. Just gentle hovering and upright circuits at the moment, then I'll want to do rolls and loops later on.

will need at least 2 more gallons of fuel to break this thing in properly. What I can say is that it is a LOT more powerful than my YS 91ST!! I'm running it on my Sylphide with Hatori 992 muffler (might switch to Funtech later on).
