Why does the advert say the ds92 is only for flybar?
What is the difference between the ds92 vs high dollar ds95 (is it just the change in the servo case)? What's MSRP on these new ds92 servos?

Thank you

The $$ is currently unknown as of now but will let you know as soon as we do.
The DS92 uses a different motor and has a plastic upper and lower case.
If you are using a flybarless system, the DS95 is still the servo of choice but all that are flying faybar, there is now another option.
Thanks,

I still don't get it...why couldn't you use the Ds92s on a FBL setup? Their specs seem good enough?

I'm sure you can, he didn't understand your question. And I agree the ds95i is a bada$$ tail servo, super fast. I have a quark on mine and it is absolutely perfect. With the 95's on cyclic and 95i on tail I have no desire to go fbl anytime soon. I just don't.

the 92 will probably work on FBL fine. The problem is that most servos are/were not designed with FBL use in mind. The demands on the motor are quite severe and heat buildup can kill the motors over time.

I think that's why you see some of the servos like the Align DS410 is now limited to 65mhz update or something like that.

What my theory is on this new servo, and I'm going to test it out as well, is that if we limit the update frequency to 65mhz or so, the servos should be good to go. Will have to update you with testing once I get them in my grubby little hands.

you bet they are and the C/S is great! when I had placed my order from MKS I got a call the very next morning from a gentleman named Tomas, he explained at that time the servo I ordered was out of stock but was expecting his shipment to be in within a few days and asked if I wanted to wait or to refund my money , I was glad to see someone would take the time to verbaly explain over the phone rather than just hold my money and make me wait, I chose to wait and as promised by Tomas my sevo was shipped the very day he received his shipment of 100 + ds 95i's he then followed the call up to find out how I liked the tail servo. +1 Tomas!"R.I.P Roman" Citizen 0094 in the Nation

So, broke up a couple of these after 50 or so flights in a FBL 450. Now I need new gears, but can't seem to find any confirmation that they accept the DS95 gear sets.

Anyone here know?

call Thomas at MKS. I asked him about the gears a few weeks back when I broke a D95 gear on a bad crash. He thought they were different, but I think he was going to check.

Did you break the output gear in 2? That's where mine broke. Thomas was going to stock just the output gear for $8 retail, so that makes it pallatable to change that out, instead of possibly breaking the motor/controller due to stalling the servo in a crash.

The DS92 and DS95 share the same output gear. The other gears have different tolerances to account for the plastic or metal top case.

I have had many more crashes/mishaps on the DS92s and have yet to break another output gear.

As for the DS92A's, we should have word soon as to a release date.

If you mean as slop free as the 95s, no, w/ the plastic top case, tolerances can't be as precise. This is why 95/92 gear sets are not interchangeable, just the output gear.

There both awesome servos! ( MKS ds95 &ds92)

I running them both on two of my trex450 pro flb and IMHO i can't really tell them apart flying. both fly the same performance IMO.

The only difference between the two is the casing, gears and price.
