I use a 6.6 volt LiFe pack and no regulator.
The battery is cheaper than the regulator alone. Then add the price of a lipo and you've wasted all kinds of money.
I literally never use the word literally right.

I use a Hyperion 1800mah LiFePo4 and a perfect regulator failsafe switch to feed the TotalG systems on my T700E and T700N ships.Jim Senicka

I use a Castle Pro Bec, it's very flexible, has a small profile, you can use the main flight pack (HV) or a seperate one. It's adjustable up to 8.4v and has two power outputs for your RX or in your case the VBar.
