My snap ring has been missing, I think for a while now...
The snap ring on the bottom of my main shaft (Logo 600) is missing. I had just finished flying fairly hard (for me anyways) and was trying to pretend like I was doing maintenance. I've not had to adjust anything on the heli since I've had it. Anyway it chirped some the first few flights but that went away and I'm wondering if it's because I now have some play in the main gear allowing it to seat better? Anyway, made an order for another and got the proper pliers for it, but had the itch so I flew it again today another 3 times. Doesn't seem to hurt anything as the herringbone gear keeps it from falling out and the jesus bolt is in the tail drive gear.

Any thoughts?

Check your local hardware store. I found that Ace Hardware carries the exact snap rings used by Mikado. I bought a bunch and keep them in my parts bin. I replace usually replace it if I can spin it in groove with little force.

Snap ring pliers are a must. If you own a Logo and don't have a set, get one.

You can also use pliers to tighten up the Mikado one, never replaced mine once. I always tighten after replacing it back on amd the cir clip pliers are a very good investment which saves damaging them.

Ok, put the ring back on and the chirping started again. I tri-lubed the main gear and chirping went away. I must have had 20 flights without that snap ring in there with no problems though I wouldn't recomend it to anyone.

Man getting that thing on and off using the right tool was sooooo much easier than trying to use small screwdrivers and lever arms!
