Sugestions PLEASE!!!!!!
I have asked this in other post with any response. Today I tried somethig differant and not I am really confused on these electrics.

I have converted a Kinetic 50 to electric using the Align 600(1650kv) and a 80 amp ESC. I am running 6 cell 3000 batteries. Fly sport with a few rolls and wide loops and only getting 4 minute flights, the battery,ESC and motor are very HOT and the battery swells. I have played with throttle curves and it don't work.
I tried (for the hell of it)a 4 cell 3000 pack I had laying around just to see what it would do. The head speed was lower but I had the same flight time and still was able to get a loop and roll out of her. The thing I don't understand is that when I landed the battery was barely warm and the motor and ESC was just a little warm. I convertion kit uses stock gears on the Kinetic which are the same for the Hawk Pro and a 19t pinion.
I have plenty of the 6 cell packs and would like to stay with those but get the temps down and maybe some more flight time. This conversion flys better than ANY nitro machine I have ever flown and thats saying alot since I have been flying them for 20plus years. I just like tis electric stuff and want to lean more.
PLEASE can any one help.
Do I need to change motor to a lower KV?
Do I need to change the pinion? more or less teeth?
Do I need to change the ESC to a larger one?

If you can answer this maybe you can suggestthe right item for low cost. I did this on a tight budget and as said before, It flys awsome..

Thanks for all the help

3000 mah packs are not enough for a 6 cell Trex setup. You want 5000 mah. Thats why your getting the 4 min flight times.

Whats your Head speed?
the battery,ESC and motor are very HOT and the battery swells
The 6 cell setup on the align motor runs very hot and is very hard on packs. High amp draw.

I switched over to 12s on a 560 kv scorpion motor. I use two 3000 mah packs in series. The higher voltage setup draws less amps and creates less heat.

Then why didn't these get hot? This is a lower volt battery. Also, I am running almost triple the KV than 560. The head speed would be dangerous wouldn't?....

The 4 cell pack should have come down just as hot as the 6 cell.
What I do knopw is that if you want to get longer flight times on the stock trex 600 power setup go to a larger pack 6S 5000 mah. That is the setup the stock trex 600 used. Use 30-45 C rated packs or higher. The higher C rated packs should run cool enough not to swell. Its still going to run hot (Esc and Motor). If ou want a cooler running setup swap out the motor for a lower Kv and go to a higher cell count (s, 10s, or my favorite 12s).

BTW whats the main gear on the hawk?
trying t figue your gear ratio

The 4cell pack has a lower voltage and, all else being the same (motor and gears) will draw less current. This is why they didn't heat up as much. You can also parallel 2 packs to get 6 cell 6000 mAh. This should give you longer flight times and cooler battery temperatures. Make sure you are running at least 85% on your throttle curves and your head speed isn't too high at that setting. This will help keep the esc and motor cooler. If you are over geared the motor and controller are out of their efficiency range and will heat up.
